You may remember the Navy had a sexual harrasmment scandal in the 90s called “Tailhook”.

I worked for the DoD then and the civilians ended up going to several sexual harrasmment training courses because of it.

After one, the instructor asked if there were any questions.

I said “so according to your training, a man is guilty of sexual harrasmment until he proves he’s not?”

Looking at me stone faced his reply was “YEP”.

I agree. Neither the secretary nor the columnist even considered the boss's contribution to the company. And the value the boss brought to the company is now gone and the company is damaged until it can fill the experience-void he left. Why? "Because he hurt my feelings." And that is a dumb reason to risk everyone's Christmas bonus. Folks with thin skin should not work in office settings.
