A republic, if you can keep it.
Republicans better get their act together — and quickly. That said, I’m also urging pigs to fly.
I say this because the last, best hope for the Last, Best Hope will have expired on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026 if they do not. And I, for one, I'm not holding my breath.
At this point, I fully expect Republicans to lose the House and possibly the Senate, effectively ending Trump's presidency and the MAGA Revolution. I know this opinion won't sit well with many of you, but, sadly, I believe it to be the truth.
One might logically ask how this could be possible given that many of the views and policies Democrats promote are unpopular with the majority of Americans, and the fact that Republicans currently hold the House, Senate, and presidency?
There is at least a three-part answer to that query: rampant cheating on the part of Democrats, idiocy on the part of a misinformed electorate, and extreme cravenness on the part of Republicans.
If Republicans do blow it, they will have squandered their last chance to fundamentally transform the nation back to its founding ideals. The only hope for the country was for Trump and his administration to somehow defeat the endlessly vast Deep State and all the major institutions that are arrayed against them.
Unfortunately, at this point, the only possibility to achieve even a partial victory would be to nuke the filibuster and pass a full slate of election laws to prevent industrial scale fraud and cheating by the Democrats. (After which, they could theoretically reestablish the filibuster.)

Off year congressional elections are about turnout.
That means on the ground knocking on doors to get registered Republicans to show up and vote (or as relevant vote by mail) in swing districts.
This has no glamour and is really boring.
Everything else is noise.
I think the idea of a GOP convention next year is brilliant and could ensure victory. It’s about turnout and since politics is not a religion among conservatives like it is with the LEFT, it’s vital to get people excited.
A convention gets people excited. I hope and pray they do it.

Yeah, unless Trump is caught red handed doing something grotesque, that isn’t going to happen.
Of course, two weeks after the Dems take the house they will vote to impeach. Then they will do it every three months thereafter.
This is why the entire MAGA army, from Trump on down, must go into full campaign mode. NOW. Running scared, with forceful and understandable issue-based ads getting the truth out. Ditching the angry outbursts over X or Truth Social — they’re comforting but earn us no votes. To get more time to campaign, Trump should abandon foreign policy adventures, unless they can be managed by trusted subordinates.
The Republicans could make them actually fillibuster until they get tired of doing that, then vote.
Problem is, Republicans are working at their real jobs. The demoncraps are just paying people who don't have jobs with of whatever funds are still left of the USAID kitty or from Soros.

The efforts are better spent with local organization efforts in swing districts.
That means person to person contacts.
Media campaigns (of any kind) are much less effective in off year elections.
The recent election in Tennessee should be a warning - the Republican won by 10 points - in a deep red congressional district where Trump won by 22 points.
Democrats will ramp up their fraud efforts during the mid-terms to close any gaps.
Additional point:
Ads talk to people.
Person to person contact means listening to people.
Listening and learning is how you get it done—otherwise you can end up campaigning on issues that “experts” think are important instead of learning what your rank and file thinks is important.
Two things: getting out the vote, and committing mass fraud at scale.
Representation is established in the Constitution making America a Constitutional Republic.
A representative Republic may not even have a Constitution and the laws can be anything the legislature desires instead of a legislature bound by the constraints of a Constitution.

Actually, I believe the House and Senate could codify any executive order into standard law with their normal simple majorities and have Trump sign it (of course the Senate will insist on their 60 vote margin).
I think the 2/3 vote is when they want to override an EO. I might stand corrected, but that is my understanding.

News flash for Eric. I think Trump is planning on paper ballots, same day voting and no mail ins. I think Trump is planning to declare a national emergency and federalize the election process so he can control the elections at the county level. He keeps talking about an EO he’s going to sign.
Also he could walk Tina Peters out of the Colorado hell hole she’s being slowly assassinated in. Her cough is getting worse and worse. Likely the cancer is back and she’s getting no treatment.

There are two problems. First, while most leftist media outlets, whether old school outlets like the Washington Post and NBC or podcasts like The Young Turks, repeat the same talking points, even as in the case with TV, saying almost word for word the same narrative. In contrast, the conservative and alt-right media have a problem in staying on task. The old joke about herding cats applies here. While having less reach and mostly confined to talk radio from 1990 through 2015, the various talkers were to a great extent imitators of Rush Limbaugh, so the narrative remained consistent. However, with the rise of neo-isolationists like Thomas Massie and alt-right podcasters who are either libertarian or conspiracist, the latter flirting with 1920s-1930s anti-Semitism, there is a disparate message. Tucker Carlson, Alex Jones, and Candace Owens dispute sizable portions of the Trump Administration actions, with podcasters like Nick Fuentes totally off the MAGA reservation. As a result, we have the conservative base, particularly young white men, possibly turned off by or even against Trump. There is a factor of conspiracy theory addiction, where the latest revelation of evil actions becomes fodder for disaffected listeners to many alt-right podcasters.
Second, there has been insufficient effort to break the political and financial power of the Left, specifically the Democratic political machines. To some extent, Trump's hands have been tied by a combination of blue states fighting Administration demands, Clinton/Obama/Biden appointees to lower Federal courts, and reluctant RINOs in Congress. However, the President does not have anything like full control of the Executive Branch and there are still large numbers of Obama/Biden stay behind networks.
If the Republicans plan to survive the midterms and hold their majority their approach must be methodical and precise.
Goal: Get the base to turn out in large numbers.
Tactic 1: Focus groups with the base around the country to find out what their top issues are.
Tactic 2: If the base is telling the administration that changes need to be made the administration needs to make those changes. Quickly—and with massive publicity.
Tactic 3: Generate standard talking points that are converted into consistent messaging on sympathetic platforms.
Tactic 4: Rinse and repeat with party gatherings of all kinds.
If you focus on turnout of your base you win in midterm elections. If you fail to do so you lose.
They will do nothing and lose.
