Sen. Cory Booker has married his fiancé Alexis Lewis in Washington, DC, less than three months after announcing their engagement in an Instagram post.
Only close family were present as the New Jersey Senator, 56, tied the knot on Saturday in an interfaith ceremony blessed by both a pastor and a rabbi — Lewis is Jewish and Booker Christian, according to the New York Times.
The venue’s location wasn’t disclosed for privacy reasons.
On Monday, the pair legally wed at the US District Court in Newark, where Booker rose to prominence as mayor — with their parents as witnesses.
The couple celebrated afterward with Italian pastries and a vegan chocolate chip cookie dough cake to fit Booker’s vegan diet.
The pair were introduced in May 2024 by a mutual friend known for matchmaking, the Times reported.
Ms Lewis, 38, who was living in LA at the time, went on a blind date with Booker while visiting family in DC.

So, in that class, men schedule the dates, have it recorded and a meeting scheduled right after. So, say the date would be from 6 to 7 pm with a real meeting scheduled for 7:30PM.
Why real? For those types who make up stuff. Then the fact of a real meeting cements a man's defense in court.
So, I'm not buying the 5 hour thingy. Probably was 1 hour that 'felt like' 5 IMHO. And definitely recorded.
The next hurtle for him is to get her to change her flight. He gives her a passionate kiss which rings her bells. Then says, I'll give you a second chance worth even more if you postpone your flight and get wined and dined in Public where I live in New Jersey.
She's does, while his friend vets her thoroughly. Should she fail the vetting. He simply says that a meeting came up and that he was sorry it couldn't happen. And recorded as well.
She passed the vetting. And the public date happens in Newark. The press photos light up the room and she's over the moon. He is too, she's a real looker and has the street smarts to boot. She turns up the wattage for the next year and sets him up to use the M word.
They get married at a Justice of the Peace. Also unusual for such a 'public' romance. Probably justified by him saying for Security reasons and something like "I can't wait to have you". If so, she will remember it.
After the Justice, begins the LA verses the NJ DC pressure cookers. While more women keep on trying.

You’re right. My math is usually better than that. That makes it even less of an issue. 18-36 maybe would raise some eyebrows, but she’s fully an adult.
She is just a bit too perfect not to come from central casting. She appears to be a seasoned pro who is committed to a multi year contract. The paperwork defining this “union” would make very interesting reading.
