I think that there was a brief period of time maybe the early part of the 20th Century where news reporting was more idealistic. Perhaps as a reaction to the Yellow Journalism period of 19th Century.
But in reality my read of the history journalism is that sensationalism in news has always been more of the general rule.
It is simply economics. Sensationalism (if it bleeds it leads) sells.

I’ve seen people do some crazy stuff on booze. And being a young lady like that someone could have slipped her some drugs in a drink.
Supposedly passengers saw this girl and one of her stepbros at the theater prior to her death. They said they appeared to be in a heated argument.
I am guessing he had a thing for her and she refused him.
I think the autopsy will clear a lot of this up. Was she clothed? Was she suffocated or strangled? My guess is no blood visible because there would be no use stuffing her under the bed if it wasn’t cleaned up.
God killed the two sons of Judah (ancestor of Jesus!) who wasted seed on the ground because they didn't want to "spoil" the beautiful Tamar with pregnancy. A lot to unpack there that points to two major problems we have today (porn - sex only for selfish pleasure, and childlessness).

Not always. Especially if she got them put on a little later than is usual. It is interesting that she didn’t have the more unnoticeable type braces.
I know, it’s untrustworthy national media, but I accept the 18-yo figure, as reported.

Not always. Sometimes 30s women get them. By that time men would rather have slightly wonky teeth than go through braces.
