Asking people to reapply is exactly what needs to be done.

SNAP Fraud: A $50,000 EBT Card, One Person Getting Benefits from 6 Different States โ This Is What Taxpayers Are Funding
Over 500,000 people were found to have been taking SNAP benefits twice, with 5,000 dead people receiving it.

With federal reimbursement for at least some of the states’ administrative costs.
Axe the damn federal program.
Let states run it and fund it themselves if they want to do it.
Periodic audits are generally a good thing. Everyone should have to โjustifyโ their eligibility for government programs.
Wanna really get your blood boiling...
Check out the administrative cost PER CASE in each state.
This is a freaking racket.
And not just for the recipients.
Taxpayers have to file annually.
People collecting welfare should have to do the same.
Most of us want to get rid of the waste, fraud, and abuse in the SNAP program, but I don’t think we can stop SNAP cards/payments altogether until everyone reapplies because there’s just too many people who are in real need. Making everyone reapply over a 6-month period might work.
A friend of mine recieves the benefit, he’s legally blind.

ONE STEP AT A TIME
In a country where a dime bought a cup of coffee, and a dollar bought a days meal for one, churches could care for the truly poor. I am thinking it would take $40 a day to feed and house 2 people for one day. That is what I make from SS retirement. Actually, about 1300 a month.
We can have a mass casualty event, kill everyone over 60, and the disabled. That would take care of things, or we can have an honest safety net. Only citizens, no children living with parents getting disability. If their parents are working, why do they need help? How many fairly able bodied young people are on disability. I can count 3 in my own family who SHOULD BE WORKING. A trans nephew/niece, 2 sons in laws. They make more than I do, and are fully functional and near 40. My sisters son, has a Engineering degree from a University, and is approaching 50 and never paid a dime into SS. He works off the books, although it seems he finally got a real job for a builder.
That may have made sense decades ago, but now it costs real money to fish or hunt, and there are limits on catch. There was a time in my memory, where I could fish in Puget Sound and keep anything I caught to eat. Paying only for a license for lakes and streams. Then the government gave all the fishing rights to Natives, and non-natives cannot survive without breaking the law. I often lived on my catch in my younger days, picked brush and sold it off of public lands. Even worked in tree farms for Christmas, made wreaths etc. Now the brush pickers are illegals, and the christmas tree farms are tended by illegals.
Today's program started around 1965...
Long-term welfare should require voluntary sterilization.
“””””NAP is not charity, it’s a money machine for companies like Walmart that take in billions in SNAP revenues.
SNAP is baked into their profits and business plan”””””
Wouldn’t people be shopping for groceries even if there was no SNAP?
I’m actually surprised that govt has been sued for contributing to the obesity of a minor alongwith malnutrition and its effects on diminished mental functions by allowing EBT and SNAP programs to be used in the purchase of junk food.
Limit SNAP & EBT for nutritious ingredients only and not processed snacks foods and sugared cereals.
