Get the costumed characters/djs/scammers/homeless off the strip sidewalks along with banning open pot smoking and that would go a LONG way to restoring the strip. I’ve only been going there for just over 10 years and the decline from the first time I went to present day is jaw dropping.

That was MY thought...they have to ‘’weigh” getting rid of repeat offenders?

Yeah, only the casinos, restaurants, and all other businesses in Las Vegas are allowed to rob the tourists.

Those hotels on the strip make plenty of money. Just have their own private cops patrol the place outside. Throw in a few Guardian Angels and PAY them.

LV used to provide more or less “Free Stuff”.

Apparently NOT so much any more.

I haven’t been there since the demise of The Sands.

Unlikely that I will ever return.

Been there, done that.

It’s not just crime.

Vegas went full Disney.

Never go full Disney.

Now if they could ban people smoking weed all over the place, that would be cool.

The place was a smelly mess when we went a couple years ago.

Las Vegas officials weigh banning criminal offenders from Strip to revive tourism

We should construct some buildings with bars on the windows and doors to protect the public from "criminal offenders."

What do you think?

the primary problem isn’t criminal offenders on the streets (indeed, some of Vegas’ chief attractions have been enumerated among them!)

the primary problem is that the prices for Vegas attractions, shows, lodging, and restaurants have gone sky high... way way way above what normal working people can afford

priced out of (most of) the market, period.

DING DING DING! No more calls we have a winner!

When I went the last time and the casino hotel that I was staying in charged me for PARKING, I was done.

(Full disclosure, I lived in Vegas for 2 years in the early aughts).

Yeah, only the casinos, restaurants, and all other businesses in Las Vegas are allowed to rob the tourists.

That is pretty much the case in any tourist dependent economy.

The first law is "thou shalt never alarm the tourists bless their fat wallets".
