Hunter Biden ignited a wave of outrage this week after launching a vicious, deeply personal attack on New York Post columnist Miranda Devine, calling her a “whore” and suggesting no one would mourn her death. The remarks came during a Nov. 6 appearance on the Wide Awake Podcast, where the former-president’s son erupted into a tirade over Devine’s reporting on his now-infamous laptop.
Devine, one of the first journalists to publish details from the laptop in 2020, has continued to report extensively on its contents. She later authored Laptop from Hell, a book documenting the emails, business records, and personal files found on the device — reporting that has since been repeatedly validated by investigators and corroborating witnesses. Her work has been central to exposing the Biden family’s overseas financial dealings, ultimately placing Hunter Biden under federal scrutiny.
Rather than address the substance of her reporting, Hunter Biden attacked Devine’s appearance, credibility, and character in a rant that stunned viewers. His comments, captured in the podcast transcript, spoke for themselves:
“There’s no ethics in what, you know, like someone as horrendously ugly as Miranda Devine physically and in terms of her, in terms of her ethics does,” Hunter said. “I mean, she is… Daily Mail and, you know, but I mean, they’re whores.”
“I mean, they’re whores for money. And, you know, she does it because she makes money. And, you know, when she goes to sleep at night, I’m sure she sleeps just fine. But, you know, I don’t know anybody that is going to be mourning her when she’s gone,” he finished.
Devine herself responded with sharp restraint, posting: “Classy guy. Clearly, he can’t find anything inaccurate in what I’ve reported.”
While the president’s son is no stranger to controversy, the explicit nature of this attack — including the suggestion that Devine is both morally corrupt and physically “horrendously ugly” — has prompted widespread backlash.
Wen the Biden campaign and its media allies tried to wave off the reporting as “Russian disinformation.” Years later — with the laptop confirmed authentic and many of its contents now used in federal court. Devine’s reporting didn’t fade. It held up.
Devine, an Australian-born columnist for the New York Post, was central to exposing the laptop’s contents in 2020. She helped publish and analyze the material Hunter allegedly left at a Delaware repair shop, including emails, business correspondence, and personal files. Her coverage, later expanded in her book Laptop from Hell, raised serious questions about Biden’s foreign business arrangements and potential overlap with his father’s political activities.
The story immediately drew heavy pushback — social media platforms throttled distribution, and intelligence officials floated the idea that it might have been a foreign operation. But those claims soon collapsed. Subsequent reporting confirmed major portions of the laptop as genuine, solidifying Devine as one of the most consequential journalists on the story.

Then-Vice President Joe Biden’s team intervened in February 2016 to prevent the CIA from disseminating an intelligence report to policymakers about the perceptions senior Ukrainian officials held about his son’s business dealings, newly declassified memos show. The request that the intelligence community withhold the report from others in the U.S. government by Biden’s national security advisor was “extremely rare and unusual,” a senior CIA official told Just the News.
“I just spoke with VP/NSA and he would strongly prefer the report not/not be disseminated,” the vice president’s Presidential Daily Brief briefer told the CIA. “Thanks for understanding.” The report, reviewed by Just the News, compiled the reactions of senior Ukrainian government officials to the December 2015 visit of Vice President Biden to Kyiv.

Former CIA Director John Brennan snapped at a man who confronted him for signing the infamous letter in 2020 that claimed the bombshell Hunter Biden email scandal exposed by The Post had “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.” Brennan, 70, grew visibly incensed and angrily got in the face of the man who pressed about the letter, poking him on the chest repeatedly before backing off. “You misrepresented that,” Brennan shouted at conservative national security consultant Thomas Speciale during the tense clash.
“We never said it was disinformation; we said it was Russian influence operations, which is what they do. There’s a big difference,” he added. After Speciale pushed back, the ex-CIA boss waved his hand in frustration and vented, “I’m not going to waste my time with you.” Speciale, who claimed the confrontation took place last Thursday, posted video of the fiery moment Saturday alongside text of the infamous “spies who lie” letter that Brennan signed.
Shortly after The Post’s bombshell October 2020 exposé of emails on Hunter’s “laptop from hell” — which illustrated how he leveraged his father’s vice presidency in his dealings with Ukrainian businessmen — 51 current and former intelligence officials signed a letter pushing back.
The 51 individuals, who clearly had no direct knowledge of the situation, leveraged their intelligence credentials to make the public skeptical of The Post’s reporting, weeks before the 2020 election.
