Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr., today announced the indictment of DR. MAURIZIO MIGLIETTA, 56, a professor of surgery at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, who purported to be an Honorary Police Surgeon for the NYPD and work with other law enforcement agencies, for sexually assaulting a woman in his apartment after displaying a firearm. MIGLIETTA is charged in a New York Supreme Court indictment with Rape in the First Degree and Attempted Rape in the First Degree, among other charges. [1]
“As alleged, this prominent doctor used his position to lure a woman to his apartment under the guise of professional networking and mentorship,” said District Attorney Bragg. “Instead, he allegedly displayed a firearm that he said was loaded, and sexually assaulted her as she repeatedly said no. This investigation is ongoing. If you have any information about similar assaults, please call our Special Victims Division at 212-335-9373.”
As alleged in court documents and statements made on the record in court, MIGLIETTA met the 28-year-old survivor through a networking event in the medical field. On June 5, 2025, she went to his Financial District apartment expecting to discuss her business ventures. MIGLIETTA kissed her without her consent, and when she attempted to push him away, he lifted his shirt and displayed a firearm that he said was loaded. As she repeatedly said no, MIGLIETTA placed the firearm on a coffee table next to the woman’s head before orally raping her and attempting to vaginally rape her. After initially refusing to let her leave, she was able to escape claiming she had a meeting she could not miss.
District Attorney Bragg thanked the NYPD’s Manhattan Special Victims Squad, particularly Det. Lauren Liebhauser.

Lol, no woman with more than a single brain cell is taking that deal. We are hard-wired to get value first. If she’s sugar-babying, well sugar daddy is going to provide the goods first. Especially not from middling successful middle aged men.
“Promiscuity is also common, and lots of people want sex without much of a relationship, probably more men than women, but that seems to be changing as well.”
Lots of women “cry rape” for advantage. She has set up a potential lawsuit which could easily gain a settlement in the tens - hundreds of thousands of dollars.
It may or may not pan out. She may or may not be telling the truth, or exaggerating.
The same applies to him.
I do not see why we should believe him over her, or the opposite. It is clearly her word against his word.
In our system, innocent until proven guilty.
“Not every woman is as sophisticated and far sighted as you.”
If she was engaging in sex for professional advancement, she most certainly is sophisticated (not in a good way). And she wouldn’t cry rape, because that permanently ends her ability to sleep her way up. No man of power and influence will ever take that chance with her again.
False rape claims in this type of situation are almost always acts of revenge because the promised advancement was denied or she was used and dumped. In which case they were playing tiddlywinks before this particular event.
Setting up a lawsuit is a possibility.
Sorting this out is what trial juries are for. If she has evidence of bruising, especially thumb bruises from being gripped and restrained, he’s toast.
“My mother taught me that all men are pigs until they prove otherwise.”
Not a bad starting point.
The corollary is “Never wrestle with pigs, you just get dirty and the pig likes it.”
Now, what kind of advice would your mom give to her son, if she had/has one, regarding women?
Lol, it was from some book on manhood, I can’t remember the exact quote but to paraphrase “Women are the source of beauty in the world and to treat them as precious treasures.”
Caused a lot of eyerolling back in the day.
My mother was exceptionally beautiful in her youth, btw. A brown eyed cross between Elizabeth Taylor and Vivien Leigh. She was also highly intelligent, taught all of us to read while we were still in diapers and later taught 1000’s of children to read in the Montessori preschool she created in the garage. She taught until she was about 75.
