Yes, we've been told she was born in Melbourne. Yes, we now know that she sewed her own stage clothes. And of course we we've been told time and time again about the purity of her bell-like voice.

She would have been a great singer on her own, just not as successful.
Her strong voice needed other voices to moderate her voice for a better sound.
Love the song, “Come the Day”...
When her voice soars as she sings the words “Faar-arr away”..
No variation in pitch as she climbs the volume ladder. She also looks so sincere and exuberant...sweetheart...
When she sings,” what a Morning, and toward the end of the song her voice goes up 2 or 3 or 4 octaves when she sings “...what a morning” and her voice comes down smoothly...great vocal control...
Love, “Colours of my life”...
I just rewatched the Zombies biopic, “Hung Up on A Dream.”
Five guys, genuinely nice. No drugs. All friends from the same area.
Experienced Success and also getting the raw deal.
Such a moving but honest movie. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
Actually has 5 Stars rating and well deserved.
That’s beautiful.
(And no autotune needed...)
Being retired, one’s mind wanders back to youth and memories triggered by music. Certain groups like the Seekers and S&OG evoke the happy side of youth with their folk and sunshine rock genre. Durham and McFarlane had talent I did not appreciate in the day. But their voices bring happiness now.
I enjoy playing the Boss Radio soundchecks from the late 60s, I’ve heard songs I hadn’t heard since I was a little boy.
Bringsback memories of a quite different time. Thanks for the reminder, one needed else all is lost.
Thank you very much.
She was married to Ronald Edgeworth who died of ALS.
He once said he never needed to buy a lottery ticket, he won the greatest gift a man could receive, Judith Durham.
I never liked this song since it came out
FOR DECADES

Nowadays, I’m able to watch it over and over
And I enjoy it immensely

“The Seekers” to me the voice of Judith Durham I don’t recall seeing them on TV back then.
The 1965 hit “A World Of Our Own” was the one I remember hearing on the radio and I was just five years old or so back then.
That actually would be my favorite Seekers song.
See #24...
SO nice you found that. So she lived the lyrics of the song she sang! How wonderful.
Their love story continues...
Judith Durham’s husband, Ron Edgeworth, died on December 10, 1994, from motor neurone disease (also known as ALS). They had been married since 1969, and Durham never remarried after his death; she later became a national patron for the Motor Neurone Disease Association of Australia in his memory. She herself passed away on August 5, 2022, and was buried next to him at Springvale Botanical Cemetery in Melbourne.
They had 25 years together. I’m sure their last years were difficult with his advancing disease.
I had never seen that video before either until this post. So simple and heartfelt, isn’t it?
Thanks! I don’t think I ever heard “A World of our Own” before. It’s instantly recognizable as The Seekers. Great love song lyrics on that song, too.
I like your “personal liberty” idea there, too.
30 million plays of "I'll Never Find Another You." Beaten by "Georgy Girl" with 38 million plays.
Georgie Girl - one of my favorites as well.
Funny thing, years ago I dated a gal that could have been her twin. Didn’t however have her singing voice.
