From some of the sloppy play I saw in the nfl yesterday I’m pretty convinced there are compromised players.....and I Also suspect the officiating needs to be called in to question as well.
Who would have ever guessed that widespread sports betting might result in cheating? What a shock!
I’ve wondered about football sometimes.
I’ve just been a casual fan of football, so can’t give any particular examples.
But I’ve often heard that the referees could call holding on every play.
Then, I’ve heard that there are blatant infractions which appear on instant replay, which the referees apparently didn’t see at all.
And the explanation or excuse if you will, is that when they hike the ball,,you have 22 guys in motion all at once, and it’s hard to see everything.
I think there was an NBA official, who was accused and,or disciplined with improper officiating a few years ago?
The question becomes if you know fixing is taking place do you still watch and commit yourself to it all in terms of time and money etc? The NFL since about the 1960s when it became the number 1 spectator sport in America has been bulletproof and a large part of that was fuelled by the gambling interest. Perhaps the gambling addiction is so powerful that it won’t matter but as always in will be interesting times.
