I’ve wondered about football sometimes.

I’ve just been a casual fan of football, so can’t give any particular examples.

But I’ve often heard that the referees could call holding on every play.

Then, I’ve heard that there are blatant infractions which appear on instant replay, which the referees apparently didn’t see at all.

And the explanation or excuse if you will, is that when they hike the ball,,you have 22 guys in motion all at once, and it’s hard to see everything.

I think there was an NBA official, who was accused and,or disciplined with improper officiating a few years ago?

If you would want to manipulate the outcome of a game, the officials would be the way to go IMO.

I believe it. Talking heads say that if you hold your opponent in the chest area, you'll get away with it, but if you grab outside the shoulders, you'll likely get flagged.

And I was at a game the other day when our quarterback took off and ran for a 30-yard gain, but after the play one of refs called holding 30-yards behind the action.
