The Fox News Decision Desk has projected that New York City will elect Democratic Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani as its next mayor. The self-described democratic socialist toppled former Gov. Andrew Cuomo in a contentious fight for the future of New York City — and possibly the direction of the Democratic Party.
Mamdani, the 34-year-old Ugandan-born state assemblyman from Queens, triggered a political earthquake when he declared victory in New York City's Democratic mayoral primary in June, pulling an upset over a former governor who was widely expected to win the party's nomination.
He has since been catapulted onto the national stage, teaming up with progressive power duo Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., to rally New York City voters for his affordability agenda, which includes ambitious campaign promises like rent freezes, fast and free buses, city-run grocery stores and free childcare.
It's a race that President Donald Trump himself has been watching closely, labeling Mamdani a "100% Communist Lunatic" and "My little communist" — monikers Mamdani has rejected. On the eve of Election Day, Trump endorsed Cuomo and floated cutting federal funds to New York City if Mamdani won.

Cuomo, the much hated and corrupt former Governor, was a spoiler by simply getting into the race.

NYC elected David Dinkins, so there is a track record of truly terrible mayors, and recovery.

Like with Pelosi not running in California, her replacement is going to be worse. GUARANTEED.
It’s so bad, governor Moonbeam seems like a reasonable centrist in retrospect.
Beginning of the end for NYC and perhaps the USA if this continues.
New Yorkers if you decide to leave NY, do not come to Florida. It is a god forsaken place. Yeah it has palm trees and beaches, but it also has alligators. LOTS of alligators. If you go to a body of water and the water in it is wet you can be sure there is a big hungry alligator lurking in it. The exception is the at the beaches. There are no gators in the salt water because they avoid the schools of killer sharks.
The gators get a lot of competition from the huge pythons. Pythons like gators love your pets and children, if you get my drift.(We’re hoping the recently introduced monitor lizards will help control the gators and snakes. They may be aggressive too, but we think they might mellow out with time.)
Then there are the mosquitoes. Most people in Florida can’t give blood because they don’t have enough to spare due to mosquito bites. It’s not only that they’re big, they’re plentiful too. And they are hardy down here; the other day I watched a couple of them consume a can of “Backwoods Off”.
Did I mention the ubiquitous fire ants? Most people don’t worry about stepping on a nest of them, because it’s normally too hot and humid to go outside most days anyway. They rarely get in homes, but sometimes for unknown reasons they tend to get in hurricane evacuation shelters. But you’ll probably only be in a hurricane shelter for a couple weeks each year. Fortunately the stings only hurt and itch profusely for a few days.
I would really recommend not going any further south than Maryland unless you’re a bitter clinger MAGA type that deserves the punishment Florida inflicts on it’s inhabitants.

I’m not shocked. I would be shocked if he didn’t win. I hope mandami gives it to new york city good and hard. It’s what democrats deserve. The countdown is started as to when new york city starts crying for federal money (my money, your money), to bail new york city out of bankruptcy. FAFO and FU new york city democrats, FU and your mama too.

You forgot to mention the Palmetto bugs which manage to get onto to nearly every plate of food in the state. Big, ugly and dirty looking.

Women vote to eliminate female sports and vote to allow men to shower with their daughters, Jewish voters vote for October 7th types, blacks who live in the highest crime areas vote for more crime, business executives support diversity over excellence, journalists support censorship. It makes no sense to me unless they hate Western civilization more than they care about themselves.
Bennie Boy should have to pay dearly for being the Ross Perrot that gave Mandami the win.

From the start I was amazed that Cuomo had gotten enough backing to even think of running.
That’s the best the Dems could find in the whole state!?
And, although I’ve always kind of liked Sliwa, I similarly felt the same way about him.
He was the most potent Republican they could find!?
It’s almost like the D’s and R’s elites decided to make sure the commie-jihadi would win.
But I don’t want to start any conspiracy theories. :)
