I recently e-wasted a few hundred pounds of servers and workstations. All of the drives are beside me at my desk... lol
Microsoft has access to all the data on your Win11 computer. And on your Win10 if you opted into the free extended service for Win10 (Win10 users who extended - you did pay attention to what they said during the process, didn’t you?
If you don’t have an internet connection, it can’t call home. But I do wonder how much functionality you’ll have if you don’t set it up with an internet connection.
How Windows 11 scrapes your data before you’re even connected to the internet

I also never used CoPilot.
The problem is, so many modern programs can't install without an internet connection.
I remember the 1980s-90s, when you'd buy a program on a floppy disc or CD-COM. You owned it forever. No annual licenses. No cloud. No updates. And nobody knew what you did with your program or your computer.
I downloaded and installed Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 (supported until January 2032) and purchased a $10 license key for it instead.

What is Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 and why does it expire in 2032 and not in 2025?
So far it works just like Pro.
In otherwords, the good ole days.
Good move.
I started Linux with Puppy and I'm still a huge fan. I've used Ubuntu, several versions for a decade or more and Debian (running Deb13 Trixie as I type). Years ago I got interested and involved with programs like GNUGuitarinux and digital audio workstations like KXStudio. Anyone who knows about the expensive windows audio studio called Cakewalk might be interested in an entirely free Linux based system doing the same thing...Ahhh, on edit. For free!!!
The main programs that shoehorned me into windows were Autocad 9-13 and later, Quickbooks and Microsoft Office Access.
It's no suprise what Microsoft is doing in subject of this thread. It's always been what the guy in the vidio says. You're not the user you're the product.
My Win10 machines are respectively old, or very slow. Enterprise would probably choke the new, slow one. I’m planning to convert it to one of the thinner Linuxes next year. The older Win10 could probably handle it.
But I really urge everyone else to continue to use Microsoft products. Their stock has done pretty well thus far, and I hope it keeps going up.
The ONLY thing I use windoze for is video games and programming my radios. After I figure out how to program radios on my old win7 pc I could abandon windoze. I would quit video games to not use win11.
Only one pc runs windoze. All my others are Linux Cinammon Mint. LOVE Linux.
Son-in-law gave me an old laptop that wouldn’t work on win10. So I installed an SSD and Linux. And the laptop works like new now. F()ck ms and windoze.
Moral? You just never know!

Thanks to Red Badger for the ping!
The technical term for that is “air-gapped,” and as long as it remains air-gapped you are reasonably safe.
I help build those centers. They are everywhere. I work on the power side. It is hard work as they are construction.
MSFT owns it but Apple and AWS is still up there.
Good money for any young folk looking for a job. META is there as well.
Any trade skill can get in, but yourself isn’t required to be involved into the data mining.
It will consume everything.
I’d never seen that quote prior.
HILARIOUS!!!
If you suspend BitLocker protection for a fixed data drive or removable data drive, the drive remains unlocked and unprotected until you manually resume BitLocker protection for the drive. This is even after you restart the PC or disconnect and reconnect the drive, in the case of a removable data drive. Whereas, if you suspend BitLocker protection for an OS drive, it will remain unlocked and unprotected until you either manually resume BitLocker protection for the drive, or have it resume BitLocker protection automatically the next time you restart the PC.
You must be signed in as an Administrator to be able to suspend or resume protection for drives encrypted by BitLocker in Windows 11/10. BitLocker Drive Encryption is available on all editions of Windows, except the Home edition.
Launch File Explorer, then do the following;https://www.thewindowsclub.com/suspend-or-resume-bitlocker-protection
It is a AI transcription of a wall of text, which is all YouTube provides. You can get AI to create paragraphs, but the real question is why don't the authors provide their words as a web page? Speeches as this do not warrant videos, though this one is substantive.
