I can assure you that millions of dollars of outside money pouring into a primary race in a solid red district isn’t there to advance a MAGA agenda. In fact, this is exactly how the “deep state” works.

It's called realpolitik. What good is being a part of the party if you don't support the party the 10% of the time that they really need the vote?
Idealism is fine as a motivation to get into politics. Purity if fine in debate. But to get things that you want done, you have to compromise on some things to let others get the things that they want, too.
An absolutist who wants only his wants and denies all the others their wants, will find himself with no friends and allies and will be an ineffective member of Congress.

My point in reaction is that ALL congressmen will have a tough vote in their career once or twice a big one I mean.

Young Republicans are sort of totally different to here you know (I believe) maybe talk to some or listen and you’d be surprised.
I’m no spring chicken but probably younger than most here 😂and still my views are sometimes in the extreme minority. I can only imagine it being even more heightened with Gen Z or whatever label they have.
I saw the rally and his real point is that it is political—Massie wasn’t there fir the party on key votes so the party isn’t going to support him in his race. It was pretty cut and dried.

When you're in the middle of a war for the survival of the nation, you don't go hide and pretend to be "principled" when the other side has virtually destroyed everything good and right. Particularly when it matters the most.
Especially when you've betrayed those principles before to get bills passed by the side that has destroyed and ruined so much.
Most recently he sided with the left to make it look like Trump was on the Epstein list. You conveniently leave his betrayals out. You conveniently leave his harmful siding with the rats out. And those weren't "principles" he was standing on, it was simple betrayal of anything good and decent.
