I remember officials doing their damned jobs.....I suspect the refs in the NBA have been intimidated into not holding players to the letter of the rules.
Nowadays in sports some rules seem to be optional.
I’ve also noticed in pro and college football some safety equipment seems to be optional as well.
Apparently mouth protectors aren’t mandatory or knee pads either......many players appear to be wearing shorts.
