The driver who drove off the Santa Cruz Wharf on Sunday morning has been identified.
The coroner's office identified him as William Westerman, 65, of Scotts Valley.
Westerman died after being rescued from his vehicle in the water.
According to the Santa Cruz Fire Department, crews from multiple agencies responded to reports of the incident at 9:44 a.m.
A dog that was also in the vehicle was rescued and is expected to survive.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Check the instructions from the GPS lady.
I hope all 928s are okay!
Oh oops just read the thread
Prayers up for their families

I hope the poor dog recovers fully.
that’s sick and pathetic
Back in the day, I drank a lot of Oly, brewed in Tumwater, WA. When they got franchised to Hamm’s Beer in St. Paul, it wasn’t even close.
That west coast Olympia was excellent, better than Coors ever was.
The mouth-to-mouth part is a little tricky though.
Thanks. What a way to go. Accidentally pushed the wrong pedal? Suicide? Stroke / heart attack at the wheel?
Maybe he was following the GPS’s instructions.

On one vacation, the GPS was set for the Motel, 300 miles distant.
We took frequent side trips and the GPS lady had to “Recalculate” many, many times.
I joked that she would get frustrated and send us off a pier.
That is my theory in this situation. Don’t ‘diss’ the GPS lady.
Coburn probably worked for a lot less.

There are usually a couple of trucks at the Santa Cruz ramp that are launched by boats every year. Sometimes tidal surge often combined with failure to set that brake thing. If the bite’s on many don’t see the humor while waiting.
