WASHINGTON, D.C. — As demo and construction continued on the highly publicized construction project to build a new White House ballroom, a new report said President Donald Trump had already made his 73rd trip to Home Depot since the start of the renovation.
Seeking to complete the project without going over budget, Trump arrived at the local Home Depot with yet another list of materials and tools needed, marking his 12th trip of the day and his 73rd of the last three days.
"Forgot to get some of this stuff when I was here this morning," Trump told reporters as he arrived in the store. "It's a big project. One of the biggest. It's easy to lose track of everything you're going to need. Every time you come here, you think you get it all, but then you start working and you find out you need more. Always more. It's crazy. But at least Home Depot is orange. I love the orange."
While shopping for the latest list of items he needed, Trump reportedly asked a Home Depot employee what had happened to the large group of workers for hire who used to assemble in the parking lot every morning. "There used to be a bunch of Mexicans outside, am I right?" he asked. "What happened to those guys? I could really use some extra help on the construction project. Those guys used to work for really cheap. We loved those guys. Now they disappeared. It's a shame."
At publishing time, Trump had reportedly asked his motorcade to turn around and head back for a 74th trip to Home Depot after forgetting a box of screws.
When I was working on my addition, I modified my old laundry room into a lumber room and took endless trips to Home Depot and Lowes to choose bizarre lumber patterns. I’d exchange one set of plain boards for better and better boards until I had piles of glorious wood. Knew every worker there by name. My absolute FAVORITE place to shop. I’m willing to bet Trump has been in that sort of store at least early in his working life.
Yep. In 2005 a building was being erected across the street from mine. A 4-story to house a classified activity for an agency with no name. While the steel framework was being erected a worker fell to his death from the top.
A few people in my bldg saw it happen. They said that in a few minutes workers started running for their cars. A few were even picked up trying to hitchhike on the freeway just 40 yards away.
The contractor was fined millions for safety violations and having illegals working on the project, and for having non-citizens working on the project. They were also barred from federal contracts for 5 years.
Been remodeling my house since June. Minimum of two Home Depot trips a week for the last five months. :)
I made that many trips repairing one pipe in my basement and now a sizeable share of the National Debt.
LMFAO. That describes my home DIY projects to a tee!
My life’s story! No project is complete without at LEAST 3 trips to the store!
good one

While living in Ohio we remodeled our kitchen and two bathrooms. I’m not good with names even when they were wearing nametags. Though I didn’t remember their names there were people in multiple departments that knew mine. A bit embarrassing when they greet you by name.
I’m quite face blind, so I’ve developed tricks to get the other person to give me the information I need to recognize them. Especially useful when everyone wears the same company vest.
Hope you had a lot of fun with the remodeling. It’s a great feeling to turn something made for someone else into something that’s truly yours.
Lol!
Good plan.
