Dear Military Veterans,
I would like to create a table of military service for those who served in the Marines and want to be included. I have already created a separate table for Free Republic's Navy Veterans and I want to create separate tables for each. It will help me organize my work if I tackle one branch at a time.
Please look at part of a table below which I have provided as an example, and see what I have in mind. I'm open to suggestions, but this table is a quick way to get started. However, I am busy these days so I'm not sure when I'll have a break. Your patience is appreciated.
If you would like to be added to the table, have a look at the format I've created and reply on this thread to have your name added. Once I get the names, I can post the completed table in a comment at the bottom of this thread, which you can link for later reference.
Once I complete this table, I can post a new thread and invite another branch, complete their table, then another branch etc. I would like to create a master table of all military who wish to share so that all user names would appear in alphabetical order and be easier to reference regardless of branch of military service.
If there's no interest in this table, please accept my gratitude for your service. THANK YOU!

Reading is fundamental, but optional for Uncle Sam’s Misunderstood Children.
(trying to get a rise out of them for you)
Grand idea!
It appears Marines are either few in numbers or are very reserved to participate in anything public.
This observation is based a Honor Flight to Washington DC. There were over 170 veterans on the same airplane and out of that number there were only two Marines. There have got to be more Marines than that.
Additionally, when out in public I take notice of those wearing veteran’s caps. It’s typically Army,Army, Army, and occasional Air Force. Then there is a rare Navy. But rarer yet is Marine.
For those veterans not aware of Honor Flights, I suggest you look up your local organization. They give free flights from your state to the District of Corruption. We toured the memorials for all branches of service, the Capital Building and other sites. Most of us agreed the most impressive site was the Marine memorial of the troops planting the flag on Iwo Jima. Second most impressive was the Korean War memorial. Least impressive was the USAF memorial. For Vietnam vets, you will see that wall, which in my opinion should have been as good as the Marine Corp or the Korean War Memorials, but is not.
Everything is free for the Honor Flight including air fare, hotel in Arlington, meals, tickets etc. All you have to pay for is travel from your hometown to the airport in your state where the plane departs. And possibly a hotel in that city in your state.
I like crayons….
I have a marine ping list from years ago and I’ll post it later
Hahahaha...I already have a lot of the Marines pegged on this forum, but...there are many who lurk, but I can often divine from their posts the presence of the Globe and Anchor in their past!
Being a swabbie, I have great respect for Marines. Anyone who gets through USMC Boot Camp gets default respect from me...:)
Whenever I was involved in hiring decisions, I always gave points to people who served in the military, and even more if they were in the Marines.
I rarely mention it online.
Seen far too many trying to claim service to gain credibility, or something. All liberals, surprise.
