Men tend to be better at compartmentalizing than women, and wokeness was in many ways a society-wide failure to compartmentalize.

Perhaps the most profound sentence posted on FR today. Well done.

That was an exceptionally well-written article.

An amazing article. As a military professional, I insist that the combat arms remain a male profession only.

Aristophanes wrote “Women of the Assembly”. It’s a great read if you get a modern translation. Executive summary:

-Athenian women dress as men and sneak into the assembly, then vote absolute power to the women.

-They pass all sorts of laws, which include the end of all private property. They become literal Proto-Communists.

-They also declare that if you want sex with a young hot woman you have to service at least two old hags.

It’s sadly prophetic.

a friend of mine notes that the Statue of Liberty is female, therefore sexist....a French enlightenment goddess. Why should a metaphysical concept such as “liberty” be concretized as being FEMALE????
He also points out that feminism fights so that females are not held responsible for getting pregnant, but feminists are quick to call males “deadbeats” and fight to blame them & to make males pay for “getting” females pregnant, and never fought for males to have equal privacy and reproductive rights.
If the Statue of Liberty was male, he says, then feminists would have torn it down by now. He also asks how the government knows who the father is of an unwed mother’s baby, and why it is not a private matter, since there is no marriage contract for government to enforce. If marriage licensing were not an important thing, then why did the Obama-Clinton Supreme Court illegal amend the Constitution by simple majority to order States to license same sex marriage against state and federal law, common sense and Reason? If the Statue of Liberty were male, that never would have happen!

The US Federal Government will have adapted to the 19th Amendment when it contains:
1) A Forum of Grievances where complaints are formally aired.

2) A Consensus Council where rule is established by consensus.

The concept of Checks and Balances will be formally acknowledged as abolished.

Men and Women are NOT the same and interchangeable. They complement each other, and together are Humanity. I would have thought this obvious.

Edit globally to replace “female” with “female and/or gay”

Then institutions would not strictly be required to become parity female before they become woke

The problem is not that women are less talented than men or even that female modes of interaction are inferior in any objective sense. The problem is that female modes of interaction are not well suited to accomplishing the goals of many major institutions.

There's an interesting contradiction, there. She proceeds to demonstrated the truth of her second sentence ... but that means "female modes of interaction" objectively ARE inferior to male modes of interaction withing the context of certain institutions, professions, or activities. This is why women were historically excluded from those situations. It wasn't irrational prejudice, but rather rational recognition of reality.

Excellent essay.

But wokeness is not just due to feminization. It also has a very strong racial component.

The essence of wokeness is the “feel good” delusional belief that all groups of people are alike in all abilities and therefore should be proportionallu represented in all fields and should achieve equal success in life. If not you gotta find and punish the oppressor that’s keeping them down. The enemy of wokeness is meritocracy.

In other words, wokeness is just a newfangled Marxism. And it will fail just like Marxism has always failed. But in the process there’ll be a lot of suffering.

I could easily see a situation where if this feminization continues (as it looks like it will) and men find themselves second class, many will turn to Islam for empowerment, as a book from a few years ago, “Submission”, dramatized.

There has never been a Matriarchy that has ever lasted. The reason is simple - women as a group make decisions based mostly on immediate emotions. Long term cause and effect doesn’t enter on their calculations. But the world is rational and it cares little about your emotions.

So this Matriarchy won’t last, so what’s going to replace it? is it going to be patriarchical Islam, or the Chinese, or Russians, or...? What do you think?

And after saying all that, I don’t mean that there aren’t smart, rational women. There definitely are, but women like this author or Margaret Thatcher are few and far between. And as she points out, what matters in society is the average not the outlier.

One more point. Feminization started when men were nagged and pussywhipped against their better sense into giving women the 19th amendment. Turned out to be not such a good idea.

Good article but timeline didn't start in 2019.

The roots are Marxist, over a century old is Antonio Gramsci, the Frankfurt School, then modern-era commies like Angela Davis and Prof. Stanley Fish.

The first person to use modern media to cancel people wasn't McCarthy, because those he fought were indeed mostly communists, it wasn't Murrow who was mostly clueless -- it was CIA asset (how apropos as she was the ultimate media whore) Barbara Walters and the '77 Bing interview with the dopey trope about throwing gays out of his house. Then she got Anita Howar to use the same question against the very successful anti-gay campaigner Anita Bryant months later, then Walters deployed it against Bryant herself in 1980.

RIH Barbara, Satan isn't as nice as your Company handlers. Say hello to all your cucks there with you like Peter Jennings...

Fast-forward to 2017 and #MeToo was launched by Alyssa Milano, first to destroy Harvey.

Then what people fail to understand, is #MeToo took out Leftards:Conservatives at a 10:1 ratio .

Cancel Culture meant shedding ourselves of 8 NPR sexcapaders, including Garrison Keillor, who in turn ineptly tried to defend Al Franken and out he went too.

#MeToo took down CBS Charlie Rose, NBC Matt Lauer, NBC Mark Halperin, NBC Matt Zimmerman, Sen. Al Franken, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman (!), Democrat billionaire donor Harvey Weinstein, Dustin Hoffman (6 women, ya'll), New Republic/Atlantic Leon Wieseltier, NYT's Glenn Thrush (an abominable douchebag of a human being), MPR/NPR Garrison Keillor, NPR News Director Michael Oreskes, NPR Chief News Editor David Sweeney, NPR Board Chairman Roger LaMay, #PhoneJob O'Reilly (yup, you better believe it), NY Ballet Peter Martins, NY Metropolitan's James Levine, and celeb chef Mario Batali.

BTW, every last one of these people has been photographed with Chuck Schumer.

I believe this will lead to a push to end boys’ activities in schools. We’re seeing this with baseball fields being torn down. You see girls attending dance concerts with 10,000 over four sold-out shows while boys playing baseball barely get 100 people for an entire year.

The message is clear societally: the future is female, we don’t care about men.
