Lets go even further with that. No one gets to vote unless they can demonstrate a positive net worth considering all debt including the mortgage on their stupid overpriced house. They need to show that they have something to lose and will not vote for the public at large to bail their ass out.

I’d settle for “You can vote if you are a net payer of taxes.”

No representation without taxation. You have to have skin in the game.

More proof that a college education is worthless for a great many clueless fools.

Well prima facie, it appears her college education was worthless at any price.

1. She must be paying on the monthly interest, alone, for the principle to have never changed
.

2. She must have achieved one of those NON-STEM degrees
.

Juice loan. If democrats were in charge, they’d send somebody to break her legs.

“I thought getting a college degree was supposed to make you smart?”

It used to.

“If I were a bank I would not give loans to anybody that was not on a career path with a good job.”

Obama took it away from banks so gov’t could rip off students. Trump wants to change that.

The real scandal is the cost of college. The cost grew faster than the rate of inflation every year for about the last 45-50 years. A lot of that is down to universities adding ever more leftist administrators. Guaranteed federal student loans encouraged universities to keep jacking up prices. The problem is the economy did not then deliver the high paying jobs that would justify the cost.

Solution? Cut back radically on the education industrial complex. That’s going to have to happen because students have defaulted on the federal student loans at massive rates because they simply can’t pay them.

That’s true....but then again universities sell the idea to teenagers that a degree from their school will unlock good steady income. Only after years and years of those degrees failing to produce high steady incomes down the road is it filtering down to the public that what universities are selling is a bunch of massively overpriced hogwash.

If she “graduated” college without understanding the mysteries of compound interest, she should demand a refund for her degree.

To put it simply...”skin in the game”.
Make them prove they are invested in our country, not here to drain the public treasury.

I thought getting a college degree was supposed to make you smart?

That has never been the case. Smart/dumb is the brain power with which you are born. Knowledge is what is supposed to be imparted at school. The math of loans is taught in high school, not college.

The system seems badly broken, doesn't it?

Yes, the only loan one should take is an investment loan. Wise investment.
Only those make sense.
Unfortunately, instead of wise investment in themselves, lots of student loans are used for partying.
And then comes the payment phase, and people are surprised.

going to college doesn’t make you smart. For some, it makes them educated.
