Virginia’s races for governor and attorney general, newly jarred by a turbulent debate and a texting scandal, have suddenly changed three weeks before Election Day, giving new hope to Republicans.
After sitting in a holding pattern for months, Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears has cut Democratic gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger’s lead in half, and Attorney General Jason Miyares, running for reelection, has overcome Democrat Jay Jones’ lead.
In a new Trafalgar Group poll of likely general election voters completed Friday, Earle-Sears trailed Spanberger by just 2.6%, 47.7% to 45.1%. And Miyares has overtaken Jones, 48.9% to 43.1%.
Earle-Sears, who dogged Spanberger in their Thursday one-on-one debate, picked up a chunk of undecided voters in the latest Trafalgar survey. In a similar poll from about a week ago, Spanberger led 47.1% to 41.9%. Undecided voters in that Oct. 2 survey were at 9.4% and now they are 5.6%.
Earle-Sears is within Trafalgar’s 2.9% margin of error.
The swing was much bigger for Miyares, who trailed Jones a week ago, 48.8% to 45%.

I keep posting no way Virginia votes for a strong independent self-made black woman. They are too racist for that. They will go with the white privileged blonde woman because they are racist.

While I hate to see dumblecrats win ANY election, this one would bite hard since Spanberger is such a loon. [Watching NJ too...such a big hill to climb there!]
Plus, the national implications would make me very uneasy. For all their stumbling bumbling idiocy, they still can win elections. The dumblecrats are no where near defeated like we like to think.
2026 will be interesting. Just hope we win.

Winsome got some really compelling campaign ads from the debate. They make Spamburglar look like a psycho woke Karen. They have three weeks to beat her over the head with these eye opening messages. Hopefully it will work.

In my opinion, it’s not the early voting that is the problem. We had that four years ago, and ended up with a very decent republican governor in Youngkin.
The problem with Winsome is in 2022 she was an outspoken Never Trumper. She backpedaled a little too softly last year. She should have done that sooner and a little more earnestly.
I still hope she can pull it off as the dem candidate is an absolute nightmare and would make Northam look like a leftist lightweight.

AWFUL: Affluent, White, Female, Urban Leftist. That’s “lunatic” for short in case anyone is wondering. They should not be allowed near the levers of power of anything, especially government. Well, maybe allow em to turn on the kitchen oven to bake a few cookies for the next neighborhood bazaar, but that’s about all.

Keep in mind that this Trafalgar Group poll only covered the days of Oct. 8 thru 10 so only ONE full day post debate (the 10th) was covered. I expect that poll would have been even MORE favorable for Sears if all three days covered by the poll had been post debate. Therefore I am very interested in the next few polls which should all be fully post debate polls.
