It was only a matter of time, really.
I wonder if the African Anglicans will finally secede?

Matthew 6:24

I wonder if the African Anglicans will finally secede? Where would they go ?
I remember when a friend told me it was only a matter of time until the Catholic Church changed its teaching toward homosexual unions (marriages). I did not believe him. I thought Pope Francis was only going to make life easier for the divorced and remarried, not link them to the homosexuals pretending they are married.
The visit was dubbed an Ecumenical Peace Pilgrimage as he traveled with “two brothers” – the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, and the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, Rt. Rev. Iain Greenshields. Pope Francis thus became the first Pope to ever make such a visit with Anglican and Reformed leaders. A new doctrinal declaration, titled Fiducia supplicans, issued Dec. 18 by Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández, the head of the Vatican’s Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, offers provisions for how and when gay couples might be blessed.
.
.
.
Before the new declaration, there had been questions about whether an ordained minister could bless couples in an irregular situation. An irregular marital situation in the eyes of the Catholic Church includes same-sex unions but also includes couples where one or both spouses are divorced and remarried(without a declaration of nullity). In fact, the document also states that the church cannot grant “moral legitimacy” to extramarital sex.

I suspect this is the final insult to the “global Anglican Communion.”

There's a great, great BBC comedy series called "Yes,Prime Minister". Very well done...and Margaret Thatcher once said it was one of her favorite programs.
In one episode the "Prime Minister" was taking to one his aides about a new bishop that was being appointed. His aide told him that the bishop was a "modernist" and the PM,shocked, said "you mean atheist?". The aide said "no,it wouldn't be right for an atheist to be a bishop...he's just "unconvinced".

Perhaps in that way. But as the Anglican church countenances female ordination it’s not that big a deal. And there’s some doubt as to whether Anglicans even believe in God any more. At least as far as following biblical principles anyways.

So they’re now akin to Unitarian Universalists? The central guiding principles of the C of E has always been the interests of the English ruling class as they themselves perceive their interests.
What has changed is ruling class fashion.

The primary biblical passage used to argue that only men can be pastors is 1 Timothy 2:12-14, which states, “I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man, but to be in silence”.
