Illegals use ERs for routine care. That clogs up ERs making care less efficient and reduces quality of care for US citizens. The Feds do cover some of the losses incurred by hospitals. Reducing the number of illegals can only help.
I have a feeling that there’d be money left over to help cover expenses for US citizens that need healthcare.

Medical costs are a sore subject for Americans facing a medical need. To discover that non Americans are getting free medical treatment is a very sore subject. POTUS Trump can ask the Congress to offer, with a congressional bill, to pay the mexican hospitals and doctors for the health insurance of the mexican illegal alien once they return to Mexico.
The medical care is cheaper in Mexico and the care is only for 6 months. The illegal alien must return to Mexico to receive the care.
I went without health insurance for about 30 years - October 1993 to October 1, 2023.
They have their own “insurance” in NJ, which is Medicaid funded.
It’s called NJ Family Care, costs illegals and poverty level nothing for the premium or copay. Illegal children are in no questions, adults they say need to be refugees or asylum seekers which pretty much describes all of them. It barely pays the practice anything for their services so it’s not too popular in the private world.

I’m OK with treating illegal aliens in critical need at a hospital, but after their condition has been stabilized, deport them immediately.
However, “critical need” would have to be monitored/supervised, else a far-left hospital would turn it into a permanent housing project with 3 meals/day provided.
