I still think going within 5’ of a rock wall on the roads of the Isle of Man TT at 190 mph is still more scary.

https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/1l28ki1/isle_of_man_tt_suly_straight_190mph_5ft_away/

The Superbike race this year set a new record of 136 MPH over the 37 mile mountain course.

110 on Virginia’s Rt64.

But I backed off real quick.

It was just so straight and empty, and i’d just bought the bike in Hampton Roads.

I wanted to see what it could do.

There’s a term for people who ride motorcycles at close to 200 mph... “organ donors.”

I guess “Just because” is the answer to Why would anyone want to go that fast on a touring bike? But the Kawasaki ZX-11 Turbo was doing well above 200 mph back in the mid 1990’s.
