The MONTHLY Gardening Thread is a gathering of folks that love soil, seeds and plants of all kinds. From complete newbies that are looking to start that first potted plant, to gardeners with some acreage, to Master Gardener level and beyond, we would love to hear from you.
If you have specific question about a plant/problem you are having, please remember to state the Growing Zone where you are located.
This thread is a non-political respite. No matter what, you won’t be flamed, and the only dumb question is the one that isn’t asked.
It is impossible to hijack the Gardening Thread. Planting, Harvest to Table Recipes, Preserving, Good Living - there is no telling where it will go - and that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us! Send a Private Message to Diana in Wisconsin if you'd like to be added to/removed from our New & Improved Ping List.
NOTE: This is a once a MONTH Ping List, but we DO post to the thread all throughout the month. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest to Gardeners are welcomed any time.
I have a friend that loves her ‘Pitties.’ She has never had a single behavioral problem with any of them. They are very loving and lovable. :)
The Hostess with the Mostess! :)

I love your paintings! You are really talented! :)
Thank you Dear FRiend.
I rreally appreciate that.
(((HUGS)))
I only now realized these are YOUR paintings! OMG, you are so talented! I’m sorry I never put 2 and 2 together. Beautiful work, my FRiend!
Thank You! I love animals, and painting them is a pleasure. :-)
I have a friend that uses Dijon mustard and maple syrup on her salmon if you ever care to try that.
He’s so adorable and your pepper sauce looks amazing!
Wow first class packaging!
My big pots on the patio finally got hit by frost. In yanking the plants I got 6 green tomatoes, good sized, 4 nice bell peppers, a few cherry tomatoes, a very small red cabbage head, and about 25 shishitos, hiding near the bottom. A nice surprise.

Love Nagi (recipetineats) recipes :-)
Ooh, that should be right down my wife’s alley!
That sounds good too!
Here this morning’s additional ‘Gained Knowledge’ for me, a tutorial on “air layered” propagation (a cutting / rooting technique to clone difficult to root plants). I’d never heard of it:

I’ll have to try a slightly modified version of this with yew cuttings, and, maybe our old apple tree if any branches leaf out in the spring. (The tree is almost all dead. :-( ...)
Ooh, that Thai Pumpkin Soup should be right down my wife’s alley!
A great recipe......one you will enjoy.
35 10oz bottles with everything you need except what goes inside for $31.99 on amazon. Perfect for bottling small batches of runny stuff.
Preach it, Sister! I'm dealing with the same thing with Pops. He keeps dragging stuff home and I keep asking him to stop it. One of us thinks it's funny and it ain't me!
Right now I have two old Ford tractors here that need to come in the shop for serious maintenance work. Both of them need to be split in half for the installation of new driveline clutches. One of them needs a new front axle and axle pivot pin/bushing, along with a new steering sector. The other one needs a piston ring job, some tuning on the draft control for the three-point lift, and a whole bunch of minor stuff. There's a Ford Flex-O-Hitch disc in the implement row that needs a couple or three new blades and two gang bearings. The 16' flat trailer needs new fenders, new floor, and all new lights/wiring. That's just a smidgeon of the big stuff that needs attention.
Then there's the house... or maybe I should say museum. Pops has enough farm toys, feed store signs, and various nick-nacks over there to open his own antique mall. It's ridiculous. lol
That’s good to know, thanks.
That price (plus the stoppers/wraps) makes your idea very economical and gift-able. Score! :)
What combo of peppers do you use? Does it vary? I’ve never tried making hot sauce. I have a pepper I love called ‘Sweet Heat’ for making Cowboy Candy. They’d make a good (mild) hot sauce too, I’ll bet!
