An off-duty NYPD officer shot a man who allegedly tried to rob her and her husband in Penn Station on Wednesday evening, according to sources.
The cop was on her way home with her husband, a police officer who was also off-duty at the time, in the busy Midtown commuter hub around 7 p.m., when a 32-year-old male suspect allegedly attempted to rob the pair, sources said.
She discharged a firearm and struck the suspect near Long Island Rail Road track 18, sources added.
The alleged attacker is in stable condition. Christopher Sadowski
The robbery suspect was transported to a local hospital in stable condition, according to the NYPD.
“Due to a police investigation, please avoid the vicinity of West 34th Street between 8th and 7th Avenues,” the NYPD wrote on X.
“Expect delays and heavy traffic in the surrounding area.”
There was a heavy police presence and caution tape wrapped around the platform of LIRR tracks 18 and 19 in the aftermath of the shooting, photos showed.
Commuter John Leahy was near tracks 20 and 21 when he heard screaming “like drunk young men having an altercation.”
“There was a train scheduled to go to Long Beach and they suddenly canceled that saying there was police activity at the station,” Leahy recalled to The Post.
“That was still rush hour. I can’t imagine someone trying to pull a robbery during rush hour.”
The incident remains under investigation.

Whatever...It seems like plain old redundancy to me. Like having more people than you need to change a f*cking light bulb.

“It took three people to write this article???”
Unfortunately it takes FOUR to produce a description of the criminal...
Has she been arrested and suspended yet?

Missed that part in anatomy class
Assuming this was a legitimate shooting (and I do), because the perp isn’t at room temperature, NYC, NYPD and the police officer are likely going to be facing lawsuits.
You gotta line up front AND rear sights and go for center mass . . .
Fat Albert is preparing charges against the shooter.
Too bad miss d the femoral artery.
Has Bragg indicted her yet? Daniel Penny didn’t work out for him. I would think he’s looking to improve his .000 railroading batting average,
Dhould have shot the perp in the head instead of the LIRR.
Yes, and none of the THREE authors seemed to notice the absurdity of that statement. Journalism has apparently been taken over by DEI.
Maybe she should have shot him right in his long island train station instead of near it! I hear that’s fatal.
It's near the far-flung Isles of Langerhans.
I didn’t know boys had those.
> I suspect she did it right and shot him in the pelvis…<
Thats the perfect shot for a small caliber concealed piece. Breaking the pelvis will prevent any further attack. A center mass shot still allows the assailant to proceed forward for a few seconds.
A pelvis shot will immediately drop the perp, leave long lasting effects, create great blood loss and maybe free up the family jewels forever should he survive.
It’s also much easier in close quarters because you don’t have to raise your arm high to shoot.

Dont you remember the song?
The foot bone is attached to the leg bone.
The leg bone is attached to the hip bone.
The hip bone is attached to track 18.

dang. totally forgot
The above line was a photo caption. Sadowski is the photographer, not the attacker.
One of the article comments said it’s becoming more common for robbers to commit their crime in daylight and rush hour because they have no fear of being jailed in NYC.
