Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk who was assassinated earlier this month, told a crowd of thousands during a packed memorial in Glendale, Arizona, for her late husband that she has forgiven his shooter.
I forgive him," Kirk said through tears, adding after cheers rang out from the crowd, "I forgive him because it was what Christ did, and it is what Charlie would do."

The murderer still gets consequences - that is Biblical.
But it is far healthier for her to forgive than to be overcome by bitterness and anger.
It was. The hair on my arms stood up.
I truly understand what you and others are stating! And an honest 50% of me agrees. but... the other 50% of my beliefs are this “forgiveness” has lead us to a point in time where it can almost be looked upon as passiveness. If we, as a people, DID NOT forgive the atrocities we are witnessing today, and strung these low lifes up and brutally executed them deservingly, I firmly believe would would have a crime reduction close to zero.
We are in a morality war as a human species. I am not a believer in God, but I firmly believe the Good Book is at least, serving as a moral compass for the masses. SOMETHING is better than NOTHING!! But even that Good Book, before they Revised it, the Humans were told to go and wipe out the criminal/s entire family and even their livestock(food).
I would NEVER forgive, and NEVER state publicly I forgive someone who killed a loved one of mine. these criminals DO NOT deserve to be given a microbe of anything less than scorn and Unrelenting.
Many I this thread, have said... “She a better woman than I am. I would never forgive”. I merely expounded on the view point...
Hate isn’t in my heart . . I hate bad people . . . Hate is a value judgment on the actions of others, just as love is.”
I am not following your thinking.
Are you advocating a Christian doctrine, or your personal code of decorum?
personal
She is a better person than me.
“God forgives, I don’t” has been my model.
She has forgiven his soul. He still has to answer for what he did.
Our culture has deteriorated since we abandoned our Christian-Judeo heritage.

It is a spiritual war. We cannot mistake forgiveness for weakness.
