Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk who was assassinated earlier this month, told a crowd of thousands during a packed memorial in Glendale, Arizona, for her late husband that she has forgiven his shooter.
I forgive him," Kirk said through tears, adding after cheers rang out from the crowd, "I forgive him because it was what Christ did, and it is what Charlie would do."
While talking about her late husband, she said part of his mission was to "save young men just like the one who took his life."

She can but I won’t. At least not until the scumbag reaches room temp.
Remember, the same woman who said to the world you have no idea is the same woman who said I forgive the killer. Understanding this is the first step toward understanding how Christians are taught and believe as they follow Christ.

This on the day we see a grieving widow take on the challenge of saying goodbye to her husband and continuing his Christian ministry.
I didn't expect to see this disrespect of her on this site.
If he was to repent with all of his heart and ask Jesus for forgiveness. I would forgive him. Until then, no.
I was fixing to quote the same passage. Erika forgave the shooter because as a Christian we are directed by God to forgive. Forgiveness is as much if not more for the benefit of the one doing the forgiving. It breaks the chain that ties us to bitterness. It lets us reclaim our peace, our dignity, our future. If we do not forgive, we are the ones held captive. Captive to anger, hatred and bitterness.
Erika and Charlie are both such beautiful examples of Christian faith.
“I don’t need to forgive him, so I won’t.”
If you have hate in your heart you need to get rid of it. Hate is deadly.
Well put. 👍
Ephesians:
10 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
* Forgiven, but stopped ✖️ 📌📖 Luke 11:21...
21 “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe. “ ⚔️
“If he was to repent with all of his heart and ask Jesus for forgiveness. I would forgive him. Until then, no.”
In which verse did you find this doctrine?
Right on! You put that widow in her place, sit-rep; what does she know, anyway?
She forgave him for HER benefit, not to virtue signal.
She knows she herself has already been forgiven an IMPOSSIBLE debt by calling upon the sacrifice of the sinless Son of God, Jesus Christ.
She knows that if one refuses to forgive, then God will withhold His forgiveness.
And, her ability to forgive is a gift from the Holy Spirit. A beautiful gift, but still, a painful path.
She, in my opinion, demonstrated true strength and grace and love and fealty to her faith and her Savior. She is a very strong.
I am angry.
I am having a horrible struggle to forgive that evil POS.
My first reaction was to seek vengeance.
But I see now that this whole situation will be used by God to empower His people and to expand the influence of Charlie Kirk immeasurably.
Charlie and Erika are far better people than I am.
May God bless and prosper Erika and her children and the legacy of Charlie Kirk.
Or slumped over after the firing squad does its work. I believe Utah is one of the few states that give the perp their choice of exit.
“I’ve already seen tweets that say you forgive him but he’s going to get the death penalty“
These are the same people that argue we’re hypocrites because we don’t believe in abortion but believe in capital punishment.
They don’t believe in anything, so they can’t (or won’t) see the contradictions. Because, they are not like us.
Exactly and bitterness doesn’t consume you. It frees you to move on with your life. It’s amazing to witness when it is done genuinely. Jesus told us to do it and he’s the one who designed us. It’s specifically in the prayer he gave to us.
Hate isn’t in my heart. Moral judgments on others is.
I hate bad people and spend no more emotional time on them than they deserve. Which is none. I love good people and try to make sure that those are the ones I surround myself with. As for the rest, I send good wishes to all the people in the middle who don’t purposely hurt other people. Hurting others is my red line.
Hate is only deadly if you dwell on it so that it can hurt you. But making judgments is what we do constantly. Hate is a value judgment on the actions of others, just as love is. Stay away from bad people and concentrate your thoughts and interactions on good people. A reasonable approach to a happy life.
When forgive a molestor after decades, it freed me.
I can’t describe what a blessing it was.
I’m with Trump. I don’t love my enemies. I hate my enemies.
