I Googled the phrase “blueberry budget” because of never heard it before. It took me to a Reddit link, and boy are those people vile!
I her good crafting info in Reddit. I didn’t know they were crazy mean people.
It took me a second to figure out what you were talking about. Yes, she is being criticized for the comment but it is not just on Reddit. Saw it on Twitter.
I have no idea from a psychological viewpoint what kind of damage, if any, that kind of comment could do BUT it is a sweet thing to say. It seems to me no matter what you say it could have a negative impact down the road because the situation is so traumatic.
It sickens me that a nutjob caused this kind of chaos and grief
But get this! They have received SO MANY DONATIONS from all over the world that they are not charging for yogurt! I thought the very nice young man said mine was three dollars, but he hadn't weight it. I asked him "Pardon?" and he said "Free." That's when he told me about the global donations.
I got my yogurt and left the store, then stopped a few steps down the sidewalk and thought "I didn't tip the kids working there." So I returned to the store and asked if they were accepting tips. The nice young lady pointed to TWO tip jars on the counter and she is the left one is "Blueberry Budget" jar for Erika and her kids and the other is a tip jar for employees. I dropped $10 into both tip jars.
It's very hard to get yogurt in Coeur d'Alene without tearing up all over again!

I saw that story on twitter. interesting local backstory to it. I wonder if they knew how swift and strong the reaction would be from both sides.
I really doubt they knew or anticipated it. Whoever would have thought a deranged man would murder Charlie Kirk or the vile leftist scum would crawl out from the woodwork the way they have.
Thank God that He is watching over their store and it hasn’t been vandalized (or worse).

I thought about the leftist reaction and it is astonishing but when President Trump was almost killed last year the reaction from them was curses that the shooter missed. Given that the Charlie reaction is in a similar vein. Going way back the left essentially has had no guardrails on them for a very long time now. I think they wouldn’t be doing this if they truly understood how the reaction is seriously hurting them politically and otherwise. Everything from their point of view is fine. I don’t think any of them thought there would be any serious pushback. They are in denial as usual to reality.
I’ve done a lot of research lately on the Italian anarchists in the USA in the first 20 years of the 20th century. Attorney General Palmer took an extremely aggressive approach and deported thousands of anti-American anarchists. There were lots of howls about civil liberties and rule of law even then. But the tough actions they took cured the problem for a decade or two.
