How many car crashes will there be from someone wearing it and focusing on the screen rather than on the road?

Forget it, Zucky. I want to use the device when I want to use it. It’s not going to be on my head so it can interrupt me every 5 minutes.

It’s a dumb idea. Millions of mind-numbed robots walking around with no awareness of the people around them! We already have that with the smartphone, but you can put the smartphone down.

“The promise of glasses is to preserve this sense of presence that you have with other people,” said CEO Mark Zuckerberg at the Meta Connect 2025 keynote. “I think that we’ve lost it a little bit with phones, and we have the opportunity to get it back with glasses.”

So, if it's just another way to check your phone, how does that 'preserve the sense of presence with others'?

Will they eliminate the need for my present spectacles and give me 20/20 vision?

When I retire, I’m going to take my “smartphone” out to the range, put a round through it, and not replace it with anything.

There’s one big reason this will have limited popularity. The cell phone is every dork’s face-saving device. They can stare at their phone in public, punch buttons and look like they might be making a $million deal while waiting for their Starbucks order. With glasses they’ll just look like dorks, alone and unimportant.

Seriously what woman who is moderately attractive is going to be walking around with her face covered by those large unattractive frames?

I hate seeing all these people with their ear bud phones, screaming into the air as they walk the streets.

OK, let’s say folks are wearing glasses that do what their phones used to do? So instead of looking at their laps all the time, they just look stoned. And instead of looking where they’re driving they’re cross eyed focused on porn in their glasses. The wrecks are gonna be spectacular?

Not everyone wants to be in someone else’s snapchat live video feed through this creepy technology.
These people are using a slang term for those who wear them.

glassholes

Glasses will be an even bigger distraction for most people.

I expect a lot more driving accidents.

If you can't resist the urge to check your phone over and over, even if you're out with friends

then you are addicted.
