I was thinking would they even want it back. I know it was his fathers and yes he would want it back for that reason but knowing what his son did with it.

What is this man to do? This is so sad.

People give firearms as gifts to family members, thinking it will become something of value to that family member. More often than not the gun is quickly dropped off at the nearest pawn shop for a few bucks. Seen it happen too many times with family.
Not too often they are used in a homicide.

I have a hard time believing they will get it back. Almost always, firearms used in a murder are destroyed.
