Robert Redford, who starred in 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid', 'The Sting,' and 'All the President's Men', has died at 89
Hard leftist, but great actor, can’t be denied. RIP.
Honestly, I was never impressed with his acting.
Jeremiah Johnson and The Natural. I don’t care about any of the others.
Good bye! Enjoy hell for eternity!
Props for keeping it respectful. Also loved him in The Natural and Sneakers.
His Twlight Zone where he played Death, one of his first is amazing. The Sting, The Natural, Legal Eagles, and All is Lost. All solid.
I’m not saying he was one of the top ever or anything, but he was pretty great in a few.
I saw the movie Jeremiah Johnson several times.
Based on a book called “The Liver Eater” about a real mountain man with the same name.
The real J. Johnson is buried in the National Veterans Cemetery in Los Angeles on Sepulveda avenue.
He was a veteran of the Civil War.
Interesting stories about The Way They Were including he wore two athletic supporters to protect himself from Streisand.
Director thought he was the only one that could deal with her in the role.
I remember Redford from a 1961 episode of Alfred Hitchcock presents . This : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0508340/
Lots of news from Utah this week.
I love the movie although it isn’t very factual. I don’t know how many times I’ve watched it. I got lucky and found the extended soundtrack. I listen to it quite a bit. Tim McIntyre, the son of actors Jeanette Nolan and John McIntyre is the singer, violinist and narrator. To me, that soundtrack is at the top of my favorites list.
Disliked “Legal Eagles” and in “The Sting” Newman carried him through the movie imo.
Just a personal opinion of his acting. I wish his loved one’s peace and he obvious was a better actor than many.
The way we were.
Butch Cassidy was OK...but it was far from being a “classic”. With his filthy political views my guess is that he’s experiencing hell fire as I type.
One of the better belly laughs I've ever had (-:
I haven’t felt compelled to watch any of his movies since they originally came out. Most of which I never saw to begin with. My 88 yo mother in-law thinks he’s the bees knees though.
George Preppard was better.
