I was wondering about that. I wonder if the engraving was sufficient to compromuse the cartridge case’s integrity. I wonder if it was stuck in the chamber.
You can take the action out of the Mauser in the FBI photo in about 10 seconds with an electric screwdriver. Just two allen bolts holding it to the stock. It is a modern bolt action, not a vintage Mauser.
I think people are overthinking it though. The rifle is about ~44inches long. Just throw it in a duffle bag, in guitar case, or wrap it in a towel. Not hard to hide when transporting.
My guess is at night.
Looks like the scope would interfere with a stock military Mauser safety. Probably not much clearance for the bolt handle, either.
Yeah, getting it to the roof without being seen is something that wouldn’t be difficult. Getting it to the woods is a different story.
Mauser is an ongoing concern, and makes a mid-tier modern bolt action rifle. 6 pounds, composite stock. The gun in the FBI photo is not an antique rifle, but too blurry to defintely say it is the Mauser M18.
I’d like to know how he got an old Mauser from the roof to the woods without being seen.

That’s been bugging me too.
It could be everyone ran away from the direction they heard the shot from , not knowing if he was intending to go the multiple murders route like the trannies of late
.
But he then went into an adjacent neighborhood on his way to the woods.
You’d think someone would have seen him though.
Maybe someone did and they are keeping it mum.
I still think there is an academia connection though. Cuz that’s where all the paly/Hamas loving BS protests has been going on lately, and Charlie was putting a huge dent on the college scenes brainwashing gig.
You are assuming this person is somehow Trans, I very much doubt it.
You’re assuming it was the same gun, maybe the one in the woods was planted also.
just me talking out loud but I wonder if they could have used a drone to get it there on a previous day/night.
|I think some over estimate how the difficult the shot was, as a shot, without factoring in adrenaline, if the shooter used a modern scope, and rifle. Forty odd years ago, as a broke youngster, shooting forty year old, WW2 era, military surplus ammo, out of a pre-WW1 military surplus rifle, with a 4X Weaver scope, that I sighed in myself, using the just the instructions in the box, I would have called it a chancy shot.
Today, using modern ammunition, a modern, $800 rifle, with a $350, 4X-12X scope, hitting a torso sized target at 200 yards is not a difficult shot (without factoring in adrenaline).
And there are guys at the range who can hit a shirt pocket at that distance.
I wonder how much of the bullet will be recovered. Sounds like it spalled on his body armor.
I think that's how that gun works...I watched a brief video...
They pulled a video from one of the houses which supposedly shows him running through the yards. Might be where they got a good footprint...
Maybe someone else took it from the roof to the woods? Maybe there was a team? Two or three? Someone waiting in a car to drive the shooter to the nearest largest city? Salt Lake City? There to vanish? The truth will come out.
No, you are assuming I assumed.
Read what I wrote.
I wondered about the rifle, and speculated on the rash of tranies shooters and people possibly being afraid of getting shot
Anyway...it’s all just conjecture...something to discuss while waiting for more to come out.
There seems to be a lot of concern as to how he got the rifle to the roof. I’d like to know how he got an old Mauser from the roof to the woods without being seen.
We have not seen any evidence. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
I am sorry, I cannot convince you. I rate your assessment as "very possibly correct".
It was just too neat a package to point the blame.
The video of the shooter running for his exit does not clearly show him carrying a rifle or anything else. It is a fairly bad video.
What do the interior cameras show of the shooters' exit? And the video that purportedly shows the shooter climbing upstairs does not show a man carrying a rifle. Not even hidden in a pants leg.
Too many loose ends in the official story so far. The authorities will need to fill in a number of blank details.
Let's hope the forthcoming press conference (in 15 minutes) gives us a better story.
