My sister traded in her Acura and purchased a Tesla. She loves the Tesla around town, but trips to see her son in Truckee and daughter in St Louis are distances that force driving the pickup or flying. I don't know if she has been taking advantage of the "solo" access.

On a related note, I've seen a lot more Teslas around Pocatello this Summer. Recently, I've started checking to see if they have Idaho license plates. A few do and they are local (Bannock County 1B prefix) plates. Winter is coming. I only know of 2 places to charge an EV in town. The Walmart lot and one of the car dealers.

Boise metro has two Tesla dealerships, and one charging station I know of behind the Tucanos restaurant on Overland Rd. Teslas are everywhere around here.

Many may have a home charger.

I’d be reticent to use an EV in Houston due to the flooding issue in hurricane season every year. But for around town in a more inland place a Tesla might work well.
