Singer Laurin Talese's rendition of 'Lift Every Voice and Sing' left NFL fans divided ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles' season opener, with many seething over the league's 'DEI' anthem.
The jazz songstress took center stage as the Eagles kick started their Super Bowl title defense in a divisional showdown against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night.
While the song - which has been dubbed the Black National Anthem - has become common place in the NFL and has been performed at the Super Bowl and the Draft, the performance in Philadelphia sparked backlash.

Professional and college sports don't seem to be affected by the conservative half of the U.S. population walking away from the legacy media and Hollywood entertainment. Sports viewing has kept pace with population growth while viewership of nightly TV news broadcasts are at one-third of what they were 30 years ago despite the population increase. The front offices of the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and NCAA know that and feel free to push a leftist agenda.

Glad I missed the Joy Reid DEI type anthem but I did see the National Anthem sung by Boys II Men. I’m assuming the DEI version was before I tuned in?

For once in a long time, I was going to watch some NFL to see what the Cowboys were up to. Once they brought out the tubby, Waffle and Pork Chop Warehouse waitress to sing the negro National Anthem, I turned the station. Gone! Just like that. That didn’t take long. Screw the NFL. They didn’t have anybody sing the Honky National Anthem.

Typical for the commies ... take something good and co-opt it for a nefarious purpose. (Rainbow, the word, “gay”, etc.)
The song itself is very nice, and is in several of the hymnals in my collection.

He thinks Americans are so addicted to the NFL he can serve a plate of ***t sandwich and we will say more please. Well he would be correct. I'm not saying it's right but that would be a correct statement. TV ratings, attendance, merchandising numbers don't lie.

Our game, Chiefs v Chargers is being played in Brazil, a really stupid idea born from NFL GREED. The players are tired from travel, the field is poor because the foreign countries have no clue about American standards and the game ends up being awful.
