Propaganda or no propaganda, no SANE person is going to fall for it and slice off his wingy-dingy or sew one on.
With the complicity of friends, family, and “allies,” they just might. “The Emperor’s New Clothes” applies.
There are a few that you can not push no matter what but most people, yeah, they will go along.
Ordinary Men is a good book to read on the subject. Not a NICE read but insightful.
And teens are very impressionable and they are taught to be so. Parents tell kids to listen to their teachers and authority figures and do as told. They rarely add on that in a case where they are asking you to do something that you feel is wrong tell them no. And we will back you.
Back when I was really young I was told by a teacher to do something that I was taught "we don't do". It was not a major thing but in my church we just did not do that. So I said no. I was shamed and made to sit by myself while others gave in and did as told. I did not because my parents always had my back as long as I was attempting to do the right thing. They did in this case as well.
Just as important as the lesson that you need to sit quietly and do your work is the lesson that sometimes it is ok to say no. It is not something to be used lightly but it is something that you need to know you can use.
