Every time I see the word “trout” mentioned, my brain immediately goes to the first time I ever had rainbow trout, which my dad and brothers caught for us for dinner, when we tent-camped somewhere in the Tetons and very near the banks of the Snake River. I was only 12 or so. One of my very favorite memories, and one of my favorite fresh fish. (Freshly caught fish -not farmed- is superior to any other way. Doesn’t matter how you cook it.)

Well, that beats me! I think I have had trout perhaps 3 times and all were either store bought or farm raised. Maybe someday.

The BEST meal I ever made was a stuffed Brown Trout on the grill. The ex (who was a Chef - his ONLY endearing quality!) went on some excursion on Lake Michigan and came back with one.

I had an OLD cookbook that told me what to do and family members STILL talk about that Stuffed Brown Trout on the grill.

I remember lemon slices, green onions, chunks of bread, etc.
