Now Augie! Why would you need to? Don't you have a pond on the property? :)
I know, you were looking at some of these!
Every time I see the word “trout” mentioned, my brain immediately goes to the first time I ever had rainbow trout, which my dad and brothers caught for us for dinner, when we tent-camped somewhere in the Tetons and very near the banks of the Snake River. I was only 12 or so. One of my very favorite memories, and one of my favorite fresh fish. (Freshly caught fish -not farmed- is superior to any other way. Doesn’t matter how you cook it.)
Nice map! (Your 1st link - I’ve bookmarked it.)
A lot of those locations are stocked / put and take trout ponds and small lakes. Still ok if the hatchery is using good water.
So. IL & Western KY have several put and take locations, and SI also has Devil’s Kitchen Lake, a very nice clear lake where the trout don’t reproduce, but they do survive year-round. They are pretty darn hard to catch, though.
