I think it’s a mixture of the two, the person written about in this article is probably faking outrage for clicks, clout and money, it’s a side hustle.
Unfortunately, a significant amount of people takes this stuff as real, like the recent shooter in Minnesota, you allow adults in indulge themselves by allowing them to mutilate and drug their children, when deep down, the children know it’s a lie, when they finally begin to accept their reality, they act out with violence.
