How will this ban be inacted? There is 400+ acres down the road from us that a Chinese man bought several years ago at a huge price for the time, over double land values. Will that now be sold or will there be exceptions? How do they determine who is or is not a CCP or foreign adversary? The Texas legislature often has a loophole for friends, especially friends of the House members. I am not too excited until I see how it is handled. It should be retroactive.
We used to have a Chinese pastor. We asked him about this land sale and he made two suggestions as to why they are buying in our location. He said Chinese nationals can get a visa if they invest $500,000 ( I think) in USA. The other thought was there may be rare earth minerals under the land. We don’t think there are minerals but there is oil production.
I will wait on the application before I get too happy.
S. Koreans that I’ve encountered in a construction setting out here in CA have acted so blatantly “we’re above your petty laws” that the actually got arrested with an ensuing crap storm of political idiocy. The overall project manager was pulling his hair out over their blatant disregard of everything from schedule, OSHA, Fire and general building code and it just happened to be in a county where the Fire code inspector also has LEO authority and carries a gun and badge. It was righteous 🤠, one of those rare moments when an actual bureaucracy cog scored a public service WIN.

Weird. Yesterday with FR down I decided to do a Google news search of the Three G dam. The only recent story I could find was about the damn affecting the earth’s rotation by a millisecond. No mention of flooding.
