Sitcoms are the comfort food of entertainment, the things we turn to when we need a boost or a smile. Unlike other genres of the best TV shows—like, say, crime shows, which we need to be in the mood to watch—we are always ready for a few laughs. Naming the best sitcoms of all time invites a lot of debate, but there’s no doubt that classic TV shows like I Love Lucy, which premiered in 1951, helped pioneer the format in which familiar characters find themselves in situations, whether realistic or ridiculous, that become fodder for laughs, usually within a tight, 22-minute episode.

Get Smart! (Sorry about that Chief)
Btw, do you know the difference between a hillbilly and a hillwilliam??????

Andy Griffith was pretty decent, too.
“here’s the clip- still cracks me up- the both of em were funny!”
Yep, remember it. The look on Frank’s face, then the delivery after contemplating a bit what Marie said is classic.
This list is a cure for insomnia.
She is a comic genius. My favorite sketch on her show was “As The Stomach Turns”. The supporting cast was great too, particularly Harvey Korman.
One’s got a rocking chair and the other’s got a chaise longue.
Not even close to my top-34 of all time.
Best line from “Are You Being Served”...A German company was going to buy the store and the older employees were upset
Mrs Slocum..”There I was, flat on my back on crabham common..and it was the German air force that was responsible”
Mr Humphries..”Yes every other time you were flat on your back it was the American air force that was responsible”
The hillwilliam went to college...
After viewing their list I concluded that anything after the World Wide Web was invented I didn’t watch or even heard of it.
😮😂
Yes! Fawlty Towers, The best comedy series ever.
My second is “ The Big Bang Theory”. Strangly it is not mentioned. Hmm, maybe I’m strange.
Or Amon and Andy. Phil silvers as sgt bilko.
Not if you eliminate the third, fifth, and sixth letters, then it's Red's Digest, comrade.
I Dream of Jeannie Get Smart Green Acres Hogan's Heroes F Troop Mr Ed The Beverly Hillbillies WKRP M*A*S*H (before it became the Alan Alda show) Happy Days (before jump the shark)
...after that, sketch comedies (SCTV,Monty Python,The Kids in the Hall,In Living Color,Mad TV...) were funnier IMO.
Of course my working years on 2nd shift didn't allow me to watch many of the "popular" shows in the 80's, 90's(I had vcr/dvd recorders, guess nothing peaked my interest)...the 2000's, meh...it's been pretty much exclusive YouTube(w/ad blocker) in recent years.
Commercials ruin the experience for me, TV/sports UN-watchable...I'll just watch bits and highlights on YouTube (until the adblockers stop working) then I'll simply find something else to do(get old/sleep).
