By extending the southern border along the 31st parallel all the way to the now, misnamed "Gulf of Californicate", Red state AZ can have its own seashore, beaches, cruise ships, pleasure craft and getaway on the placid waters of the "Gulf of Arizona" without leaving the state. Make Mexico an offer it can't refuse Mr. Trump!

Trump should consider the Baja also. All of it. Lots of potential resort areas along both shores.
I like the idea, but 31st parallel or fight just doesn’t have the same oomph as Fifty-Four Forty or fight.
It almost did. The Mexican legislature offered to sell us Lower California in the 1850s, but Congress turned it down.
Buy Puerto Peñasco, highway 8 and the entire coastal region. Make them a great offer. Everyone happy happy. Super close to Arizona.
Or take it from them as payment for the 265K Americans they allowed to be killed. 3rd Armor needs some work.

IIRC, Pat Buchanan pointed out that the US could have bought all of Baja for the money Clinton spent on a bailout of Mexico during a Mexican currency crisis.
Too late to do anything about it now, but it’s interesting to note that the money to buy Baja was already spent, but the US got nothing for it.

Sometimes at the end of the day in Tucson you can see the sun reflection from the sea on the bottoms of the clouds. Also when you fly out of the Tucson airport the sea is visible when you climb out and it’s constantly visible from a flight to San Diego or LA.
Maddening for serious beach goers

I dont care what Pat said. Not that he was wrong but, the southwest will need to access that gulf for water VERY SOON, or AZ, in particular, will be in trouble.
AZ is RUNNING OUT OF WATER. AND, they will not cut Californias share of the Colorado river to give relief.
Better to own access to it than to deal with these grease balls.
