Caitlin Clark, the standout guard for the Indiana Fever, has become one of the most electrifying talents in the WNBA. Her scoring prowess, playmaking ability, and leadership have not only helped elevate the Fever but also brought unprecedented attention to the league.
However, the 2025 season has been anything but smooth for Clark, whose ongoing injury issues and the team's internal struggles are raising serious questions about her future in professional basketball.
Clark's season has been plagued by multiple injuries. She first suffered a right groin injury on July 15, which kept her off the court for more than a month. During a solo training session on August 7, she sustained a bone bruise on her left ankle, further complicating her recovery.
The Fever have yet to provide a clear timeline for her return, leaving fans anxious about her availability for the playoff push.
Is Caitlin Clark coming back?
Popular WNBA content creator Rachel DeMita has weighed in bluntly on Clark's situation and fears she may not be back this season - or perhaps at all.
"I don't think Caitlin Clark is coming back," DeMita said, blunt and unfiltered. "And honestly, that's the thought on everyone's mind right now."
DeMita's candid assessment reflects the unease surrounding Clark's recovery and the Fever's handling of the situation. While head coach Stephanie White remains more measured, stating: "The hope is that she's back."
Either way, fans are growing impatient, with many expressing frustration online and a sense that they have "had enough" of the uncertainty.

She needs an enforcer like they have in Hockey.
I don't know, could be.
CC’S head coach & GM can start building a wall around her similar to the NHL enforcers of the 70’s. The WNBA isn’t all that different than post expansion NHL. Thin talent and a lot of unprofitable teams.
Really? How did you come to that conclusion?
1. White and black players have been attacking CC.
2. Sophia Cunningham got fined for speaking out on how Paige Bueckers (she's white) is getting preferential treatment compared to CC. (There's one difference between CC and PB. You can figure that out).
Think she has black fatigue...
Good suggestion. You can’t take the Iowa out of the girl.
Black basketball players have always considered themselves better than white players. To have Caitlin show up and be a better player than they are and get more endorsements and fans - that has to be hard for them to swallow.
The WNBA is basically a club.
They've blackballed CC because she doesn't fit their agenda.
I wish CC would very quietly begin taking lessons in the martial arts (karate, judo, etc...)
The next time I get a dirty foul, break the leg or arm of the opposing player. Show no mercy !!
Then look at the opposing bench and ask “Who would like to be next?” I bet there would be on takers !!
PLEASE CC, GO FULL CHARLES BRONSON ONE TIME !! I BELIEVE THAT”S ALL IT WOULD TAKE
Ooh, you used the word blackballed. Are you sure race has little to do with what they’ve done to Caitlin?
I’ve already explained my theory in post #65.
The WNBA was developed as a public platform not so much about basketball, but as an LGBTQA+ visibility arena for black women. - now along comes an extremely talented heterosexual white who is a transformational talent and they want her out
Caitlin Elizabeth Clark, please take as much time as you need to let your body heal. Young woman, you are among the most highly skilled basketball players I have ever seen.
I can see why they’re angry (from their point of view) because we’ve ignored the league in the past 30 years. Now all of a sudden CC is here and the fans are paying attention which means we support her but at the same time we’re rejecting their agenda.
WNBA is in the entertainment business.
Controversy is good publicity.
Sorta like how Trump personally dominates the news cycle.
It’s show time!
Happy Kaitlin Clark
Estimates range from 38% to higher, The number of lesbians in the WNBA is about 44 total in 2025.
Either way, it’s quite a stretch to use whatever the numbers are to conclude that CC is being targeted.
She’s not being targeted in the WNBA. Your lack of basketball knowledge is on display.
I live close to Storrs CT. One of the best basketball colleges, UConn, is right down the street. As a professional photographer, I shot many games for the men and women down there. Women’s basketball is fun to watch. It is a completely different game from the men.
I respect the women playing the game. They are some of the best players on the planet. Yet…I’ve never paid to see them.
If there are people who want to watch it, thats fine. Trying to “force” it on the masses is not. For the “uninitiated” theytune into a women’s game an expect the same pace and flamboyance as the NBA. That is never going to happen. And you need to have another reason to keep watching them. So far that hasn’t happened.
Many of the women think they have to act like men and that means a game that is far too physical and “chest pounding.” That is not going to attract viewers either. Most coaches don’t coach that style because it disrupts the flow of the game.
The NBA is trying to “make fetch happen”*. It’s not going to happen.
* a phrase form the movie, “Mean Girls.” Look it up.
