ICE raids are closing businesses and creating ghost towns throughout areas of California. A recent study estimates around 200,000 job losses due to these raids so far, which has local progressives sounding the alarm. Journalistic report. Includes news footage for purposes of commentary, criticism and analysis.

0:06 Huntington Park, California, now feels it has a bullseye on its back because of ramped up ice rates. So almost half the people living in some California towns do so while living in America ill legally. And while the lawless residents of these cities gripe to the news of how ICE raids are shutting down their entire economy, critics say they've got no one to blame but themselves for encouraging people to break the law. And as you're about to see, there's more than one town in America where this is happening. The once vibrant city center has now become eerily quiet. It's nearly 96% Latino and as many as 45% of its residents are undocumented.

I think, they are counting it in statistics.
That may be behind the low number of net jogs gained lately.
Americans just cannot fill all that jobs illegals left so fast.
During the Biden admin, the jobs gained were filled by illegals, now, the new jobs are waiting for Americans!

I hope, there will be a lot of empty houses in LA.
I am wondering, with the exodus from CA and NY, why the housing costs there are still rising?

LA was already in a collapse. The very guts and important part of the city burned. It just caught fire and uncontrollably burned to the ground. The elements supporting the LA trash population were cast out

California has resigned from America

Basically every illegal working is a business receiving huge subsidies from everyone else.

a) many pay no payroll taxes;
b) when sick or injured, a public hospital treats them and taxpayers are on the hook;
c) they consume other public resources (roads, schools, etc.) without contributing taxes to pay for them;
d) they depress wages for everyone else, especially working class Americans;
e) they increases costs for housing, the tax burden, etc., for everyone else, especially working class Americans;
f) the special exemptions they get from prosecution by leftist local governments violate equal protection and make Americans citizens serfs;

Illegal aliens are one of the best examples of privatizing profits and socialing costs there is.

It’s not just in our neighborhood, either, but all over the city.

I live in the boondocks of S.E. Missouri. Last month Spectrum was laying fiber optic. When I asked what was going in the supervisor told me—in broken English. I have to believe there are plenty of American workers that could do the job just fine.

Now I suppose we should all be on the lookout for a spike in murder and torture of all those poor people who claimed asylum for fear of their lives?

Or not?

I live in the south bay area of Los Angeles County. I have not noticed any collapse. Perhaps these cities with pockets of hiring problems should actually consider hiring people who need jobs. Some of these people may be living in tents. Some of them may not speak the same language that the owner of the business speaks. Now is the time to facilitate getting the hard-core unemployed into the base level jobs. I have no idea how that is done.

This is not happening fast enough to suit me. We need a referendum cutting off all financial aid and medical to all illegals. That, and other ways to make them self deport. No more free rides and no more looking the other way while we support their lifestyles. Democrat mayors and governors supporting illegals should be arrested and charged with crimes. We need to get the illegals out and start fresh. Arrest and charge all of their enablers too.

I agree with you.

After years and years of willful neglect, I do tend to cheer any movement that gets rid of them.

But I agree that we do need to get these people out faster.

I think the mistake being made is looking for “criminal illegals” “first”.
They are all criminal and need to be rooted out and deported.
Sanctuary cities should be immediately cut off! Can you imagine Alabama defying desegregation orders and getting away with it? Oh yeah! They didn’t!

Best policy is to take out the really bad guys first.

I disagree...because when you get some illegal who is not a “bad guy” the press jumps all over it and screams bloody murder because that illegal is “one of the good ones” who just wants a better life. Then we start rating them on degrees of “bad”.

Wrong...to me at least...I want them all cut off from any services reserved for citizens like food stamps, their phones disabled and them all gone. The faster the better.

California was once the promised land where a young working class couple could move, get a great high paying job buy a starter home, send your kids to the best schools and universities in the world and generally live the American dream.

Even without illegal immigration, California was going to become expensive nevertheless.

Perfect location. Right off the ocean. Best weather in the world.

It was not going to be cheap.
