A Harvard researcher was brutally attacked by a gang of teenagers at a Boston movie theater after he told them to be quiet during a screening.
Thiago Rentz, 35, was seeing a late-night showing of the new horror film Weapons at the AMC Boston Common 19 last week when things got frightening off-screen.
A group of five teens in the theater loudly clapped and screamed throughout the screening, ruining the experience for everyone, Rentz said.

How in the world did he not know better than to tell his better’s to shush? After all, it’s the world Harvard folks have made for themselves.

Long enough for all to learn : No, you don't challenge the offenders. You don't criticize. You don't act surprised when they follow you outside in the dark.

This can go in the discussion I saw recently on a news show: How come theater attendance is still on the wane? One said too many sequels. No, the problem is the people.
A couple of years ago a golf buddy mentioned he’d seen OPPENHEIMER. Another buddy asked ‘were there a lot of Canadians’ in the theater. WTF I thought… Canadians in suburban Maryland in the summer? And how would one know they were Canadian?! Took me a while to figure it out…
Wonder if he’s a conservative now.
Last time I was in a theater was for TOP GUN: MAVERICK. I certainly would not attend any midnight showings in an urban area.
