Amazingly enough, actually reading JUST THE EXCERPT reveals that they DO euthanize the animal before mealtime.

A previous article did say that all pets would be humanely euthanized before being fed to the zoo animals. Still...pretty gruesome to think about it. I wouldn’t want to visit a zoo & watch a lion tearing up a pony, dog or cat.

My neighbor had two of her horses killed in their pen when a live wire came down in the road during a storm. The electricity traveled from the road to the pen about 60 feet away and fried the poor critters. Not sure what the voltage was but there was enough juice to set the road on fire and melt the asphalt.
