For those who want a female Bond (I’m not one of them), here’s a simple solution:
Create a character called Jane Bond, James’s cousin. Also a 00 agent. Have her work with James in one of his movies, then spin her off into her own series. Everyone’s happy.

Helen Mirren is now 80. Is that too old to be cancelled by the woke crowd?

Cancellation time for Helen. As left as a person can be, dear Helen, but apparently not left enough.

James Bond is Jane’s Bond. But 007 doesn’t have to be.

On a related note I found this video excerpt interesting. The stunt guys did not want to do the "stepping across the alligator" stunt on live and let die. The guy that owned the property agreed to do it and it took him 5 takes. Here are a couple of outtakes.

Why can’t they make it a her saying it’s Bond’s estranged daughter named ‘Jane Bond’ who’s pressed into service to locate her missing father James? Or some such like that?
Is that too far fetched for movies these days? I think not.

But, can James Bond be a gender confused guy in touch with his feelings that uses non-violence in his efforts to resolve conflict? (sarc / LOL)
American movies are the instruction manual for societies values, at least for a very good percentage of the people.
Most movies and TV shows today are laden with overt value messages referencing religious, social, economic, and/or political issues.
Instead of clergy, family, or a teacher conveying values, you have people like Polanski and Weinstein teaching them.

Hollywood:
Black cop / white cop. (late 1970s)
Christians are all close minded bigots. (starting late 1980s)
Abortion is a good thing, normal, a right, and anyone against it is a bad person. (late 1980s onward)
Feminism is good, and it you disagree, you're a chauvinist, misogynistic jerk. (starting lat 1980s. Example Murphy Brown)
Global Warming (rebranded to: Climate change) is real and don't you deny it. (mid 1990s onward)
Republicans are bad, Democrats are good. (starting late 90s. example: West wing)
Homosexuals are all nice go lucky folks that just want to be married. (late 1990s)
Muslims are misunderstood and Christians are at fault for their anger. (2005 onward)
Women are the action hero's and need thrust into male roles. (~2012 onward)
The problem is Hollywood almost always proselytizes the most radical far left ideology (because of the whack-jobs that have influence in Hollywood), EXCEPT when this applies to themselves. Then they don't want quota's in hiring, fair pay between the sexes, etc.

Personally I thought Daniel Craig was pretty good although the last movie was about an hour too long.

Everyone here has an opinion. Well, okay. But for me the ONLY James Bond is the original one. Forget about all the rest.

He was the original one, wasn’t he?

If the story is based in the 1950's or 60's, keep the original character as is.
After that, It's a child or grandchild. With all the implied begetting of the original character, there has to be some offspring somewhere along the line.
