Recently, a mysterious discovery has resurfaced on social media, reigniting debates and curiosity worldwide: the so-called "lost city" said to lie beneath the waters off the coast of Cuba. More than 20 years ago, this underwater site first caught the attention of archaeologists and scientists, but it has remained largely unexplored since. Given the renewed interest online, we’ve taken a closer look at the international reports and expert opinions surrounding this fascinating -- yet still unconfirmed -- find that could potentially rewrite parts of human history.
In 2001, a Canadian research team reported finding massive stone structures deep beneath the ocean’s surface, suggesting the remnants of a once-thriving urban center. If confirmed, the site could be over 6,000 years old, making it about 1,500 years older than the Pyramids of Giza. But to this day, the mystery remains unsolved.

When I saw “hydrothermal field”, I immediately thought mid-Atlantic ridge. But this is OFF Cuba, so is there really a hydrothermal field close of Cuba? At over 600 meters, this is very deep. However, we do have the history of the serious sinking of Port Royal caused by a severe earthquake several centuries ago. However, that was less than 100 feet. On the other hand it was only centuries ago, not millennia ago.
I have visited several very old Central American and Mexican urban ruined cities. Some well restored, or perhaps not even that ruined, and my impulse is to say these photos, if not manufactured, “feel” like ancient remains to me. Of course this is not scientific findings, just my gut. ;-)
“The facts point to at least one advanced civilization existing up to the Younger Dryas (sic) No need to go diving in Cuba necessarily.”
Yes but... If this by a long shot turns out to be true, it would have to be hundreds of thousands of years old. That is a pretty significant difference...

Looking at these photos it could not be mistaken for anything but man made structures. But the photos are a computer generated artist’s rendering. I remember the first images they shared of the actual Sonar signatures. It would be stretch to call them man made from the actual original sonar sources. These photos here are a misrepresentation for sure...
History Channel could do it for pennies on the revenue dollar.
6,000 years ago is not nearly old enough to have that site at 14,000 ft below sea level at the surface, as the water level only fell 150-400 feet world wide.
There would have to have been one or more major subsidences to lower the site so far down.
Do not disturb Cthulu. It never ends well.

Sorry for the double post.
Here is what I don’t get.
They found this in 2001, and there has been almost no evidence to document the site. Yes, it’s deep, but no sub footage and no core samples reported. Why?
Could be a funding problem, which may have resulted from the obvious stupidity of this.
Exactly. It appears that someone pulled the 6K figure out of their nether regions.

Manipulated image. Fake.
If they ever mate, the universe is in trouble.
I think they mated.
Too little data with too much interpretation.
The stated depth of 600+ meters would be in the neighborhood of 2,000 feet not 14,000 feet. Is that the depth of the mid-Atlantic ridge? It would certainly have to have been one or more major subsidences, and I have seen no mention of how far away this was from the Cuban shoreline. The Port Royal sinking was right next to the area that remained above ground. People were diving and salvaging property for some time after the disaster.
When I was doing research on the great Pelee volcanic explosion in 1902, a ship at sea reported the ship suddenly dropped 4 feet as they saw sharks jumping from the sea to avoid the hot water. This was at the time of the sudden great eruption that had been building in recent months. I wonder how much the earth under the sea where the ship was had suddenly dropped? This would have been off the island of Martinique.
