“Finding” Earhart’s wreckage seems to be an annual media ritual to prop-up sagging click revenues.
I’ve been around for a lot of years ... Noah’s ark, shroud of Turin, Amelia Earhart, etc., tired of the speculative BS. Heard it all ad nauseum.
Perhaps lack of $$$?

LOL. My late husband, a pilot who grew up in Southern California, told me it was common knowledge she was flying out of a small airfield there, but keep being distracted from what’s really going on. It serves their purposes.
he has access to a lot higher resolution imagery than google earth. I cannot find that spot it on GE.
I finally figured it out. Look at the fuselage label and its pointer line. go further down from the end of the black line toward the blue color and you will see a vaguely straight object partly buried in the sand at a diagonal. The middle is buried with the two ends sticking out.
It’s like looking at a dental Xray with your dentist when he points out cavities - “here” and “here”...and you nod and say “sure”...
If it is her Electra plane, could the salt water have preserved it like the Titanic, and made it be recoverable and able to be refurbished and flown again if not too badly damaged in the landing? I don’t know much about planes or crash landings of them. Could she have put it down Sully style in the water after running out of fuel? Survived the crash with her navigator Fred?
I don’t understand the fascination. It was a publicity stunt not a flight to save or help somebody or something.
