There was some idiotic movie in the early 2000s (I think “The Time Machine”) where they built condos on the moon. This caused the moon to disintegrate and ruined life on Earth for a few millenia.
Billions of dollars wasted going to places that do not support carbon and water based life forms.
Talk about government waste.
Low Earth orbit and Geosynchronous orbits are the current high ground. Both sides have access to it in the Russian/Ukraine war.
Only one side had usable access in the start of the Gulf wars.
You don’t actually have to “win” the war, but you can prevent the other side from having exclusive access.
COMPLETE waste of resources. It’s a rock, without air, food or water.

Anyway, since the moon is gradually moving away from us, maybe a little more mass would help keep it around.

Any mass will affect its orbit. It's current mass has been altered by asteroids, comets, and meteoroids but who knows what "straw will break the camel's back"?
And I am a brain surgeon/rocket scientist.
1000 times harder to colonize the moon or Mars than Antarctica. So I suggest they start there first!
